Oh crap, it is like you were floating around in my head I've been looking at moving the platform up on the stick a little bit and doing something just like that. I even reached out to trophy line to get a longer section of their tube but I have not heard back from them.

@DanO has it. The only thing you really have to modify is cutting the bottom out of the bottom post cup so you can slide it up the post to fit where the leveling bolt hits. I havent really looked at it but I imagine you could do the same thing with an EDP. Not sure about the onyx because they changed it up some build wise.
 
I looked at your post while I was driving, (at a stop light) BIG MISTAKE!!!! I just got to the job site and getting ready to give Dano some more money!
 
You need to order a post, a double step, a platform standoff, a long bolt. And material for a new aider. Might want to grab extra rope and hitch cord too since you have to make an order anyway. :cool:

So you climb with the platform folded up, then when you get to hunting height, you cam the platform?

Wouldn't you need two versa buttons? One placed for the stick standoffs and one for the platform?

No just one button. Not sure I completely follow your question. If the platform is up, both standoffs are on the tree. When you cam the platform down it raises the bottom standoff off the tree. You dont have to fully cam the platform to access the rope and button. You do have to hang to the side some though as opposed to a normal stick you can keep between you and the tree.
 
It actually might work with a EWO stick standoff at the bottom but I was concerned there wouldnt always be clearance and I already had the platform standoff's.

its definitely not fun to do with a mission. i gave it the old college try. I dont like my rope pinching on the ledge. for that reason i dont have one on the top of my one stick either. i recently climbed one of those ultimate one sticks with a UP on top though and it was definitely better than i remember when i had the scout. I am still not a fan of those sailboat cam cleats though

Normally, if you modify a stick, you have to place the button 2/3 of the way up between the standoffs so that it is stable and does not kick out.

I'm your current config, it looks like the button is set for 2/3 distance between platform teeth and top standoff. I was just wondering if the stick was unstable when climbing because of the button placement.
 
i always post after only reading the first thing haha. Looks like the mission can be turned into a pretty slick climbing system. im tempted to try that!

The little I have played with it so far, no it's felt plenty solid. Havent been on a wonky tree with it yet though either. Once I get an aider on it, I will put it through the paces.
 
Used a scout with the workhorse aider and then moved it to a predator. Works well, but I never liked going down that way much. Going up works very well in my opinion. We’ll enough that I haven’t owned sticks for longer than a couple months since I discovered saddle hunting 3-4 years ago. I typically 2TC nowadays.
 
Added a cam cleat and ultimaider to a Seeker platform. Weighs 5.5 lbs ready to climb. Have a Rebel platform in the bullpen that will probably get modified too.

Nice B! I used my version 1 stick all last season. EDP on 15” cut down Lone Wolf stick Hawk

Nice B! My DIY version I used last season. Still tweeking. I used an EDP on a cut to 15” lone wolf stick. 2 step aider hawk standoffs( little longer worked better than others I tried). When the platform is folded flat on a move it slides up under my tether/rappel rope as I climb. Last 29F767D4-7F08-4878-9F21-CA63516AE6AA.pngmove I put a locking pin in the platform after folding it down. Kinda a work still in progress. Good luck with your set up.
