think most of these guys are electric, so probably pretty easy for them. Muscle required for the peda
Salsa Timberjack 29er. I started mountain biking two years ago, and I started looking for a way to access hunting spots by bike. My search led me to saddle hunting. This coming season will be my first saddle season. I primarily hunt mountains. That's why I use a 29er. I will be using the bike to ride on roads that are only designated for walking or biking. I plan on putting my WE stepps, Mantis, other gear in my backpack, and strapping my bow to the backpack with the View attachment 11133SOS Gear Bow-Backpack Carrier.
old school, I like it! You made the right choice going hard tail too!

You guys running any heavier wall tires than the stock kendas on the rambo?I've got 2 flats already ...need to upgrade

I think I’m gonna upgrade to the Maxxis Minions on mine. I need something a little heavier as well with all the rocks I have in this area.

Sounds like I’ll have to as well judging by everyone’s comments. I was hoping to be done with this money pit but I guess not. There’s a lot worse things I could be spending on I guess.

If you have a Specialized dealer nearby, get some of their GRID casing tires that are made for tougher conditions and are cheaper than other brands despite having exceptional quality just because of their sales volume. Also consider going tubeless. It will make your ride softer, with even better grip and the required sealant will prevent flats from punctures.

I'm thinking about getting an ebike but I'm trying to justify the $. I may end up getting a fat tire bike and later adding a motor/battery kit.

There are some 750 watt Rambos on sale on eBay right now for a pretty good price. Not cheap by any means but pretty good discount off the normal price.

I use a mountain bike for the speed of access on certain properties. I have not modified it nor do i have trailer for it as, i am very minimalist and am able to wear everything including my bow. So the most significant benefit i get out of it is the increased speed. A couple of the areas i hunt have old road bead and railroad beds that make the traveling extremely easy with a bike.
