Arsenal Platform

It depends if you know the tensile strength of each bolt? :) is a welded 'L' bracket stronger? A cast L bracket has been strong enough....
To machine it out of a plate thick enough to encorporate the lip would raise the price significantly if not double!
Probably more than double the material and I'd guess you'd be doing pretty darn good if machining only doubled too

I'm not an engineer but I would bet the bolts are plenty strong. I'd also think the axel would bend/ break loonnggg before any tabs could.

How exactly is this connection being accomplished? It's still unclear to me.

The Arsenal Stuff does look very well made. Can’t wait to see what some of you guys who have pulled the trigger already think. I’m set for this year but the collapsing sticks are tempting. I am trying to figure out @Samcirrus ’s role with this is?? Pretty cool if another fellow saddle hunter is getting involved in the industry. Ahh America!!!

Looks like 2 flatheads on each of the rectangle blocks where the platform pivots. Bolted up through the platformfrom the bottom, rather than machine it out of solid

That's also a lot of surface area to try and pull a head through for those concerned about strength. I don't know that they did, or even think you're need to but you could also Heli-coil the threads in the rectangles and good luck pulling those out!

Also, here's our angular adjustment

Don't mean to steal your thunder @Samcirrus

When the Beast stand came out I thought the connection could have been improved on. If I recollect correctly the ears fit into a recess on the top of the stand, are bolted, then welded. I wondered why not make it a piece that slides into a cutout beneath, is then bolted, and welded.

I guess it's no matter so long as the connection is strong and manufactured consistently.

Overbuilt=more weight. Under built=less safety. Just right=better get it right, all the time.

The smaller platform has 3 countersunk bolts on each side of the bar@ that the post rotates on. The larger one has 3 on each side.

So the ears just sit on top of the platform surface and bolts are screwed up and in. Got it.

I don't think anyone has bought one yet! Maybe though if the website has been up for a few hours....Thats what tomorrow is for....
My involvement with Arsenal is that the owner reached out to me after seeing some of my carbon platform pictures and told me about what he was doing and sent me these platforms to prove who he was and his ability to manufacture quality high end stuff. Then we made a partnership for the future carbon platforms and I have been designing and building real cf platform prototypes this last year....I'm way behind on the latest one though because I've been doing 60+ hour weeks at work....

So awesome man!!

I think it’s the rope cleat mod that really interests me. I agree some of the features on the Fix are better. Curious if anyone has used a rope mod with the Fix? Wasn’t sure if the way of camming the Fix affected the viability
I have used the lwcg buckleless strap on the ambush and it works great. Not exactly the question you asked but thought I’d share. The reason I didn’t use my Amsteel ropes is because I was fearful of the sharp edges on the platform itself.

I should have added that I am doing the same thing with my .5 hybrid too.
