I'm having a bugger of a time attaching the gear hoist to the molle webbing on my kestrel. How are you all getting that on?

It's a bugger for sure. They made those loops tighter than a monk at a ...
I'll let you fill in the rest.
What I ended up doing was taking the clip off the hoist and cutting off the end of the clip where it makes the bends. That way I could slip it through the mollie loops.

Someone did a simple mod with a zip tie loop through the kestrel loop, though you can make a loop out of rope material too.

I agree those loops are too tight to be practical.

@fr0sty, this is how is I attached mine, I used one of the pouches that @g2outdoors has on his youtube video on how he set up his sit drag,I took the metal clip off,20180716_164459.jpg 20180716_164459.jpg 20180716_164751.jpg I put my hoist in a koozi to quiet it down, I put a grommet in the bottom of the pouch, ran the line through and replaced the plastic attachment with a simple utility carabiner ,slid some cheap hollow core camo rope over that and melted the ends to keep that quiet, hope this helps

This is what I did. Cut off everything but the first bend so it doesn't come back out. Malice clips will work as well. You can find them on eBay

I have never heard of a malice clip either. Thanks for showing me that. Lots of great ideas here.

I just clipped mine over the top instead through the loops. Just as if you would clip something to the top of your pants. That clip is pretty tight, and holds pretty well. It kind of grabs the molle loop. Seems to work well.

I have a Muddy retractable hoist that I run out the bottom of an entrenching tool bag. It still has room for the backband.

I ended up up tying it on with a small length of paracord. I put the paracord through the gear hoist clip, ran the paracord up through two of the molle points and the tied it off at the top. I was able to snug it up real tight. So far so good.

That's pretty slick. Something like that with a magnetic flap closure and room for my tether and belt would be sweet. Just when I think I've found the perfect setup...

I have been attaching my gear hoist to my backpack and climbing with my pack on my back. Are you guys not using a backpack, or are you hoisting bow and pack at the same time?

I got mine in there, with a little help from my wife and some needle nose pliers. Not sure ill ever get it out....
