Backyard Practice Tree

All 15 acres of them, don't have a favorite, but usually pick a white oak!

@g2outdoors I have outside trees, I'm lucky,I have about 10 acres of trees, but for the heat of the summer I added shade and air conditioning, lol. This is my ground level basement set up. I have up to 35 yard shots out of my basement door. This is great for quick practice for shooting from my saddle, but still the outside elevated target practice gets most of my attention. Great set up Greg!

So with my practice set up. I have about a 10 to 15 foot drop in elevation to the bottom close to a creek that runs through the back of my property. So with a top of a ladder stand i can climb up and set my platform. At that point I am only about 7 foot off the ground where platform is but with the drop in elevation the target is actually about 20 foot. So i can get up and down quickly and safely and still practice without killing myself climbing up and down the tree repeatedly.

I'm very fortunate to live where I have an abundance of trees and state land to hunt all around me for miles.
I do practice with my saddle set up and have insisted over the years as buddies of mine added a saddle set up to their repertoire of hunting tools to practice practice and practice. You'll be doing this in the dark, in rain, and in snow where i live. Its essential that you can do these steps with your eyes closed, by feel alone, or you're not ready to hunt from one.

Getting that hang time in....
