Would like to know what pouches are recommended, specifically what you store in them, and how many you have on your saddle? I have yet to pull the trigger on getting one or more as of yet and wanted to get some feedback first.

$8 on eBay. Can't beat it for the price. I use it for my tether and my tree hooks whe i climb and it works perfect. Once I get in the tree I put my linemans belt in it. It's not huge but it does the trick.

So, prior to climbing the tree, is your lineman's belt in the same pouch as well, or do you not keep it in a pouch until you are tethered in the tree?

Lineman's rope in the pouch for me until I climb.
Pruners go in pouch while I climb to clear new growth on the way up.
Back in the pouch after I'm tethered.

So you're able to fit your lineman's rope, tether, and pruners all in the same pouch? Just trying to get an idea of how much can fit in the pouch.

And are you using the same pouch as the one mentioned above?

At that point im using the linemans belt. When I get in and tether that goes in the pouch at that point.

I like to have as little attached to my saddle as possible. I always have a dump pouch on my left hip which always has my tether and lineman's belt in it unless they're being used. I had clippers attached to it this year so that I wouldn't forget to bring them but I wasn't thrilled with it. I may try keeping them in the dump pouch too.

I do have way too much for a mobile setup. Right now its nice to have everything to grab for a quick practice run.

I saw on a different thread that you purchased one of the entrenching tool pouches to try it out. So, are still only using your dump pouch? If so, which dump pouch do you use (the one shown above?)? And is there a noticeable size difference between the holding capacity of the dump pouch versus the entrenching tool pouch?

No, sorrry - My tether is on my right side in a second pouch. They look just like those, but no logo.
The pruners do fit with the LB or tether

I wasn't a big fan of the entrenching pouch for me.

I'm not 100%, but I'm pretty sure this is the one that I was using for a couple years that I liked. It's a little noisy at first but quiets down with wear. My last one ripped off and I'm using a different one that was posted on here. I don't like this one though because the pouch is hard for me to close, I'm going to order another one of the old one.

Yes My pruners have a sheath they go in unless I'm climbing and the rope is in use

Here is what I have on my kestrel - got it from a mil-surplus store. Has large interior compartment with dividers. Easily fits back belt folded up in divider, then tether w/ropeman at the bottom (pic 2), then linemans rope w/ another ropeman, both daisy chained together on top (pic 3). Still room in outside pockets for small accessories, etc. Plastic buckle and NO velcro you find on cheaper Amazon ones. And as a plus, removing the shoulder straps leaves 2 nice molle hooks. Material is louder than fleece obviously, but no worse than material saddle is made from (camo patterns are a heavier weight cordura also, fyi). Maybe larger than what some are looking for, but compared to the summit viper my large American self (6'2" 260 lbs) has been lugging through the woods the last few years, this is all minimal to me thusfar. It is a "shoulder bag", but it does have 2 molle straps on the back for attaching to your saddle.
