Best saddle for relieving ankle pressure

Boots though might be helpful to and fro. The right boot might make a big difference. I know my hikes in and out are more physically stressful than my all day saddle hunts.

I do agree the JX3 would offer some relief after trecking in and setting up.

Lowa Tibets changed my comfort as much maybe more as a properly fitted frame pack while hiking. Agree 100%.

But I could sit barefoot in the hybrid. Or a sturdy boot. Wouldn’t change comfort demonstrably.

Lol dang are you calling me older lol. I started free climbing many moons ago. I have fell further with a leather safety with no squeeze. I didn’t bounce but it’s still better than death. I don’t know. I’ve seen a guy fall to the ground with a squeeze on so. I have a different idea on some things
Man I would never call anyone old. I got started in this work in 99…. Definitely not many moons but also not a young spring chicken either!
Imagine how bad you did something wrong to have went to the ground with a squeeze on

Oh no. You have me beat. I started in 01, 2 months out of high school. Yea it was a learning experience. If your belt is below your waist and you put pressure down and kick out. You will go to the ground.

Yep toes to the sky, hips out 25 to 30 degrees from the pole and we lock our knees out lol. Anyway hope you heal up and have a great season!

What do you mean by steps?

I add steps to just about anything I'm doing. Even if I'm just tying a new hitch on a tether I have steps on my 'practice platforms' in the yard...
I can't sit or stand or do anything for very long before I start to hurt somewhere. The steps give me a bunch of different places to put my feet.
I lean a lot but I don't like angled platforms mostly because my left ankle doesn't bend back anymore. I can stand on a step with my toes pointing straight or down and it works out pretty good.

Well I was informed today by my doc. I will be in a 10-12” tall boot from now on because of how high I broke it. Definitely will be tweaking my steps and such to be able to give the ankle a break.
