Has anyone purchased bolts in bulk like these?
Pro vs Con?
Opinions?
Discussion?

I'd go with the 3/8. its a little bigger and sturdier. I bought some last year off ebay and split them with my uncle. They're just as good as any others Ive used

I bought 35 shipp d on eBay for 29.99. I have only painted them. If I decide to keep some on me I may go the plasti dip route but for now I’m just using them on presets and leaving them in.

Thanks guys. I spaced out on the 5/16". I knew it should be 3/8".

I ended up buying 10 bolts today at ACE hardware. They are grade 8 bolts, 3/8 x 6" long but they were $1.99 each  I thought I had found a fabulous deal at Tractor Supply, but the longest bolts were 5". Cost for 7 bolts (sold by the pound) was going to be $4.50

Anyway, as of today I am a bolt owner. I have an Ernie platform (saddlepallossa, thank Ernie). Now I am just waiting on my Mantis.

I really need to order some in bulk. They're such a great way to preset trees. I don't like pulling them out and carrying a set with me. I either have trouble finding the holes or I find the holes have shrunk or frozen over.

After I work with these some, I will probably do the same thing!

I bought all my bolts on ebay for around 50 cents each. Killer deal.

Do you guys cut all but 1/2" of the threads off? Seems like Simmons suggested doing that with the woodpecker drill system. I never cut mine, but had a few get slight bends in them

I don't. If I did, I would by the 7" version and cut it all off.

I don’t cut mine and I have experienced the same issues. I blame it on the Chinese steel.
