Does anyone know what hook Carl Kossuth used in the recent hunting public video where he demonstrated one sticking? Or does anyone else climb and then fish up their bow? Looking to try a grapple hook.
Thanks

I tried it last year and had a bad system and decided I’ll never do it again. Maybe others have had better success but it was no fun trying to fish it and feel like I was wasting time and moving a lot!

Personally, I use a bow retriever reel clipped to my pack. I hook it to the bow on the ground and the webbing pays out as I go up. Once up and situated, I pull my bow up and reel up the webbing. Easy Peasy!

I use use a large muskie treble hood with the barbs clipped off.

On Saturday, my bow somehow got unclipped from my climbing rope. Using an s-biner and that treble hook, I was able to snag my bow and pull it up.

If I can find it I have a gear grapple laying around here some place. Lasted about 3 hunts in my bag last year. If you are interested let me know. Give me like $10 to cover shipping and its yours

I talked to Carl at a trade show this summer and he showed me his grappling hook. It is a custom DIY goodie that is not available commercially.
