I'm using 550 cord wrapped this way:

It's not as convenient as something like a Doyle's hoist but is it far cheaper, lighter and packs smaller.

For my bow hoist, I have a s-biner on the payout end which clips to my bow cam and the fixed end clips to an s-biner on my saddle. For my rappel rope, the payout end has a fishing weight which helps drop it down and keeps it from swinging and the fixed end loop goes on the delta loop.
