Sticks should probably be 1” square if you plan on using any off the shelf steps or standoffs. If you can find 7075 tubing you can cut the wall thickness in half to 1/16” and save a substantial amount of weight.
I’d be weary of going that thin, especially with no other bolt support. Even with the significant increase in mechanical strength properties and control of hole tolerances I’d expect you’re still going to wear out the holes and get wobbly fast without reinforcement there. Thoughts?

7075 should be alright. I would keep it 1/8” wall for 6061. Carbon will need reinforcement.

I now see the video was 3 years old (so 2020-2021)
Everyone is trying to go lighter, and I was putting up a link for the tubing for anyone else...and thinking I might look into also ?

2018 ? IDK, but always looking to evolve.

Lone Wolf Custom Gear was selling their sticks with rotating standoffs for side stacking in 2019.

I am somewhat surprised lone wolf and/or Novix hasn’t sued him yet. Surely one of them has the patent to the rotate step design?
I think this design was even pre LWCG, I still have three 32” Gorilla Sticks with the same rotating single step. Bought these at least 20+ years ago.

I've heard you may be able to drill out those tubes (like beast sticks) to shave some weight. Just an idea that wouldn't cost much. I guess I can't say how much though based on your weight, climbing style, etc.
There’s a video on YouTube of a guy who drilled them out. Didn’t save enough weight to make a difference
