Great link. I don't think the RIT dye contains any acid but it would be great to have them confirm that. That was the first thought that came to my mind.

Anybody have any information of degradation rates of ropes when in contact with ozone? I know it eats plastics, which some of our ropes are made of.

That would stink. Wishing I kept the bottle now. I don't remember seeing any warnings on the bottle or anything but honestly I didn't look for it either. Just read the directions.
 
Rit dye is just salt.

I work with pool chemicals and photo developing.
Muriatic and Sulphuric are NASTY.
I spilled muriatic on my leg once and it melted my hair :)
 
Sodium Chloride "possible eye and skin irritant".

But yeah...pour some Muriatic Acid in the pool at night and you can see the 'toxic'. Get downwind of it and it'll melt your lungs
