Not sure if I can get this link to work , (& did not film this link either) but I am currently on vacation & watched a guy climb a palm tree exactly the same way. Sure does get me thinking.

Yep. Using both legs (right leg is attached to the top tether) is a plus.
Ive been wondering about attaching a foot loop to my harness like that

That is a lot easier on smooth palm trees by the way. But he is also good at it
 
What! I am impressed, what is that a tether with a foot loop and a tether looped around the knee/thigh?
