It ain’t a redundancy.. once you run out of rope there isn’t a single thing, not a rope or mechanical device that is gonna hold on air. It is your only protection for running off the end of the rope and I think it’s silly to encourage people to be so careless. Not everyone has the common sense in the moment that you may have now trying to be witty or humorous on this forum. Even if you don’t want to take the extra precaution, you shouldn’t downplay safety for others. Tying a stopper knot applies to your tethers, bridges, lineman’s belt, SRT, drt, you name it. If you’re on a rope you should tie a simple stopper knot, that’s preached in every rock climbing, treee climbing, turd hill climbing class in the world.I get it....redundancy
But unless u got a real short rope and climb real high it's exactly that.... redundant. I speaking of rappelling because I have experience with that....I don't know anything about srt/dry.
