Looks good. Cant really tell in the pic but make sure you clean out the drill hole and the sharp edges on the entry and exit. The plastic cover on a golf ball will wear your rope down quicker. Living in MN and your going to rock a Iowa golf ball come on man. Hahahaha.I played around with a buddy's JX3 hybrid and the tether that came with it had a plastic ball slide, just like what I did hear with the golf ball. I liked it a lot, work well and that's what I based my idea from. It's just another option if guys want to try it.
x2girth hitch your tether to the tree

Do you mean girth hitch your tether to your tether around the tree?girth hitch your tether to the tree
I don't know how I never thought of this.Girth hitch as shown. 100pct effective..
Run tag end thru loop but leave some room.
Run tag end around tree and thru the loop.
Pull tight.
I cant speak for others but it's not an issue once it's under load..it never slips then. It's when you've unweighted it that sometimes it will slip. Are you guys really having issues with the tether sliding? I can’t ever remember having an issue even on slick bark trees just hooking it up like normal. Is it a certain tree or rope type? I’m using a tether made of Predator with a spliced loop and it’s never moved a bit for me.

NY saddle hunter does a good job explaining it.
