I would think any stick with a versa button would work - assuming that the loops are big enough. Then you could either girth hitch one end to the button as you said, somedude, or just put a couple of stitches in a loop once it's on the stick. The stitches would be just to make the loop smaller to keep it on the button, the loop itself should still bear the weight...

Did you see me ask @g2outdoors before? I'm thinking about trying it. It will be lighter than the cam buckles but since it is pre-made easier than doing an amsteel daisy chain myself.

Mine don't have versa button but do have strap connectors similar to the Hawks.

I might try a standard daisy chain first just to see how it connnects. I'd girth Hitch around the beam and around the connector and then it would loop around the tree and behind the beam and back up to the connector on the right side.

I just did new ropes for my sticks and did 7'. FYI.

Last year I climbed a larger than normal tree using screw steps in the dark. I got up to height and my platform strap was too short!!

I think 7' is good, maybe a little more if you're gonna girth hitch it. I think it's cheap enough that it's worth a shot!

That's super light compared to cam buckle straps. I stuck with them cause they're easy. Hoping this is too.

This looks good. I thought someone mentioned that if hooking to a versa button your better off straping both to evenly distribute load?

Are you planning on bringing the other end around the tree and looping the tightest loop over the versa button..?

NO! I love Dutchware. For HAMMOCKS. We have to be careful using non climbing gear. I wouldn't want to use this for a TETHER.

DutchWare is awesome. I agree that this may not be the first choice for a tether, but it's rated at like 2500 lbs. It should be fine for a tether.

is it tubular webbing? If its not then why not just get climbing chains and a sling to be sure?
