Fort Campbell, Kentucky just closed all hunting for next week! My brother and I have been planning this trip for months and all the planning just went to crap less than 96 hours out.

I have from Saturday, Nov 4 - Sunday Nov 12 to hunt.

Where should I go? Anything from Southern Ohio to Southeastern Missouri is in play. I'm limiting it to a 12hr drive from Savannah, GA.

I leave Saturday morning and I need to make hotel reservations and start aerial scouting. Thanks in advance.

Did you decide to pass on LBL? Lots of room to spread out there, and as is typical in the region, you have to be prepared to hike past the competition. In my experience hunting the Hoosier and Wayne national forests, (both good options also), anything over half a mile in gets lonely. The locals don’t bother if they can’t ride an ATV.

LBL is still on the table. However, looking at P&Y record book entries, the chances of a book buck are better in places like Indiana and Ohio.

I'm definitely not saying no to LBL. I'm even looking at Fort Knox, KY.

I saw some big deer in southern/central Indiana when I lived there for a few years, never got a chance to hunt it though, worked too much, and I kick myself for it.

G2, Just wanted u to know u would have a good chance in Indy since the KY hunt went out the door! And Rabid - Indiana will always welcome you home!

The buck in my profile is from Indiana. I have a soft spot for that place. Ohio is still on the table as well.

Could always hit up NY. Not within your drive time but I'll throw it out there.

Hey G2 if you would like to hunt in Ohio , I’ll be glad to help ya all I can. In my back door we have 3 public land opportunities ..... 22,000 acres , 18000 and 13000 acres. Not a lot of hunting pressure until gun season opens . I have been hunting them for the past 3 years and yes some really nice bucks.
Last year John E. posted a story about a buck he took from the area on a friends property that he was selling. I think it was earlier November late October.
Don’t mind sharing what I know of the area, their is plenty to go around.

Shawnee National forest in southern IL is huge and not very pressured during bow season.

Southern Illinois it is. Thanks everyone!

We leave Saturday morning. I'm going to film the entire trip. Hopefully I get a couple deer down on camera and some points for team 1.

Thanks all for the advice!
