Final version of my short stick

I would really like to see a video or at least a pic of someone standing on the bottom step with the platform on top. I have a DanO stick coming for one sticking and really want to go to the platform on top
Here you go

I ended up putting together a 3 short stick set. Should be able to reach 18'+ with this setup. Prolly wont use it, but here it is anywho.
3 short sticks, 3/ 2 step aiders and daisychains
Suprisingly heavy at 4.4lbs
Does pack up nice though.

Wow that is sweet. You ever decide to sell hit me up buddy

Yea I wasn’t a huge fan of that hole being there either. I just threw the stuff together tonight scraps and all. Do they make a 1/4” bushing that would fit snug internal to the tube?

You can fill the inside of the tube in that area with JB weld.

This looks awesome, I might have to makeup a set

I use a 3 step aider and each step is 13" apart.

This is in no way optimized yet but I did pretty well with this 22” and 38” webbing aider from my stick set up from last season. I’d love to make one of those two or three step aiders like @Redbeard uses. I’m just getting use to one sticking for now.

With a wide platform like that you have to make one of the newer style aiders. The steps will hold wide open very nicely And there is just way less messing around. It’s more like climbing a ladder and far more stable with the spread out connection points.

I agree! I didn’t know what to call that style so I just said like the one @Redbeard uses. Did he ever name that thing?

I’m still stuck at 2 on my micro’s. Can’t seem to find the time to get my set complete. I plan on building 2 more - set of 4 with a movable 2 step aider. Mine are fairly heavy as well but the packing profile is similar to a large water bottle. 2F70D0CF-0B5E-4253-9E7B-4CDDB6EF14B4.jpeg2A626C57-3412-406E-934D-64146483884E.jpeg

Those look awesome! Super packable. For me, the "moving parts" of foldable sticks (or anything else fr that matter) have been a hurdle to mentally get over. Not due to safety, but because I am anti fiddle. I want to get to the tree and things be ready to go. I can only imagine how much more compact I could be if I would get over that.

Oddly enough I’m anti fiddle as well thus mobile hunting gear products. I will not run a setup that isn’t climbable as soon as I hit the base of the tree. However, swiveling steps & daisy chains don’t brother me. The value of packing I guess overrides the setup while climbing. My daisy chains stay in a water bottle holder on my harness.
