First pics of Dan Infalt’s climbing sticks

Not as good, steps don't fold.

I have some muddy pros. Haven’t used them but like how they pack tight a at least one side is flat. The problem is I need about 6 sticks in certain trees (40+ feet) so if I add 2 more Muddy’s I’ll be at 18lbs of sticks.

I would like to support dan and plan to buy a set & probably get some helium’s eventually to tinker with.

I wish Dan’s sticks folded to reduce the bulk/added volume sticking out from pack. Every bit helps when u have 5 or 6 sticks.

He wanted to keep them light. Folding steps add weight.

I’ve kept up with his thread on the sticks & do understand his reasoning. I was just hoping maybe his original plan for 1.5lb fixed sticks could lead to 2lb folding step sticks.

That is both a benefit, and a drawback.

With steps that don’t fold... the sticks become wider, but stay slightly shorter.
Whenthe top set of steps are folded on modified heliums, they stick out above the top bar. I’m a short guy, so this makes them stick up almost to the top of my head. That can be a problem hanging on brush and things. I almost never fold the top step anyways for this reason.

I've got another request from TetherdNation.
How about a backpack to carry sticks or climbing gear, predator and have room for cold weather clothes?
I'm smiling here, but I'm not a DIY guy and you all know what we need.

Carry them up side down. I Carry them upside down or under my arm like a duffel bag.

I figured I'd repost my message from The Hunting Beast for you guys who may be interested:

"Hey guys,
I recently had the opportunity to try out Dan's new sticks. For anyone worried about step spacing like myself, this may be interesting to you. I am 35 years old and 5'4" tall. I'm pretty darn short. I don't consider myself to be super flexible by any means and I don't have the greatest knees either. Not saying they're horrible, just not great. I was PLEASANTLY surprised with how comfortable the steps were to climb and I did not find the spacing to be too far apart for me. They felt rock solid and were super light, as advertised. They're really something else guys. I hope this helps anyone who may be wondering about the step spacing."

I wish he’d get these to market ..I really want to try a set my first hunt of the year is only 8 weeks out

Yup, know what you mean. Sounds like there's a LOT that goes into it. Hopefully soon. I'm sure everyone will be pretty pumped when they try em out.

I made a set of my own.

I like them. Just climbed them today in fact. I need to make an aider so I don't have to carry all 4 sticks.
Awesome, glad they're working out for you. Been researching aider options myself. I'd like to get down to 3 sticks.

Maybe I've missed it, but are there any good pics of Dan's sticks out there? Also, when are they supposed to be available? I'm looking for a new stick and don't want to buy one then wish I had another. Who am I kidding, no matter what that's going to happen!

He said he hadn't yet released any pictures of the new sticks. I don't want to put words into his mouth, but I think they'll be out pretty soon. I know he wants them to be absolutely perfect before they're put on sale.

Someone posted a pic of his prototype I'm thinking. Or maybe it's just in my mind because I did see it in person and got to climb it.
As far as availability, Dan said it would be before season starts and there would be enough for everyone.

They had originally posted a few pics, but pulled them until patents are confirmed and parts are ready to be assembled. Dan mentioned getting a batch of parts in soon, so hopefully they meet his specs and they release the sticks.

Yeah, I saw the early pics and they looked nice. Didn't know if there were any major changes or not.. Hopefully they will be available soon!

I may be wrong but I think he was not going to have them drilled out because of the cost. Lot of extra machining.
