Folding saw? Silky Pocketboy Outback vs Bahco Laplander

I have both the curved 130mm and 170mm Silky saws with large tooth. I prefer the 170mm in a pouch attached to my water bottle carrier that I pack my rappel rope into.

The silky is a stout saw. I was a bit surprised at the weight of it in hand, more than what I expected. But it cuts well. Definitely an upgrade from the sliding blade gerber I’ve used for the last 20 years. And heavier, too!

I've got the bahco. The blade locks nicely and the blade cuts really well. It's overkill for what I have to cut, so I went to smaller saws to save space and weight.

I have the Silky pocket boy 130 curved blade, with large teeth. It is a fantastic little saw. For packing the small size is great and it cuts like you wouldn't believe. For what I bought it for it is perfect. If I were getting one for more general use like prepping lanes or heavy trimming, I would probably opt of the 170 or an even larger version.

I wondered if it has anything to do with the manufacturing process of the blade?
Possibly. I haven't paid it much attention until now. I'm looking at the instructions and it only shows the little hole on the 130 and 170.

I've seen that hole in the blades of other brands. I have considered that it was for hooking a fingernail for opening but I've never needed it to open a saw.
Just something I wondered about. I thought that it might be for some application that I'd never considered.
It's always nice to fully understand the parts of tools.

Yea Buddy! They are NASTY.
Mine is the 130mm, it's a little smaller than yours ^^^.

Ahh nice. I was going to get the smaller one but I’m please with the size of this one. Is yours the straight blade?

Oh, you're going to love that little saw! I've been thinking about one of the bigger folding ones.
