Frustrated

I’m currently in Cumming with my parents while I train for my new job. When the wife and kids come down we want to be in the Dawsonville area.

Dawsonville is beautiful. I've got family there. Maybe this is something you'd be interested in.

I think the spirit of the law is that they don't want you to have resident hunting licenses in more than one state. There's no way they can tell how long you've been there... Not telling you what to do either way, but follow your heart :) From what I remember, the GA website is super easy to use and get tags.

I’m pretty sure you would be ok purchasing online as long as you have a Georgia drivers license. If you have some kind of major hunting incident it may come back up during their investigation.

Heck now a days with online license purchase, they use you drivers license and that's it.

Had a family emergency back in Michigan so I had to make a quick trip back up here for the week but I’ll give it a try when I get back down to Georgia next week. I’ll keep you all posted.

I think I would give it a try. It you get checked and the game warden catches it I would came ignorance. As long as you're actually living there will probably let you go with a warning.

Ignorance is not an excuse. Just saying. It might work on some. It dont work on me.

I would go get my DL then go get my hunting license and hunt. Period. If checked I doubt any game warden will be looking for the 3 month resident rule. If so I would tell him how sorry I was that I didn’t mean to break any rules and say since Walmart sold you the license you figured you were good to go. FYI There is a good chance you will get flagged buying the license

That's what I say, ignorance. How was your trip?

Not sure if this has been mentioned or not but I would almost guarantee if you just tell the warden that you were advised by @EricS or @swampsnyper or even @Nutterbuster, he understand and let you go on your way.

Happens all the time. Like a get out of jail free card. If it doesn’t work, just call Huck for bail money.

Shoot, don't drop my name! I just payed off my first game ticket. Jugging for catfish without a license. Apparently even if it's not your boat, not your jugs, and you have $100 worth of other licenses and a freshwater license would expire in two weeks anyway if you did buy it, it's still frowned upon...
