Gone soft, southern public, mobile system

Ok....this season I noticed more than ever that my feet get cold. We had some pretty cold days here this year but it's not the temp. My feet just get sweaty easy....I don't know if it cause I'm getting older or what. If it's hot or if it's cold I have sweaty foot's...luckily I'm not a naturally smelly person so it doesn't equate to extra foot odor...it just makes it easy for them to get cold.....on those real cold days hunting I ended up taking my shoes off or wearing my Crocs and a medium/heavy weight sock and my feet were warmer after the sweat evaporated off exposed out in the open like that ....what the heck is that all about. Not sure how to handle this issue. It's really the last thing I need to figure out that bothers/hinders/discomforts me during hunting season.....breathable something or other and those insulated boots covers is my plan for next year. Minimalist boot skeletoes or these crazy new mesh shoes or something like that..and then trash bags or those wiggys wader leg things or equivalent for water...the tingly/yoder combo is best warmer weather Florida shoe but I need to figure something else out for if/when it gets cold
I've always had sweaty feet too. For me the answer is wool socks, uninsulated boots and the artic shield boot covers. But honestly, good wool socks and uninsulated boots are better than cheapo wool blend socks with a synthetic liner under them and the boot covers over everything.

A while back Mr Womack recommended a deodorant that is essential just a polish rock. It works great. My wife bought me.a 2nd 1 and I started using the first used 1 on my feet. To definetly helps but not 100%. I bought some cheaper end merino socks and they didn't keep my foots any warmer that I could tell....I guess spring for some real high end exotic socks and hope for the best

Change socks 15-30 minutes after you get in the tree. I use non insulated rubber boots and didn’t have a problem in the winter storm we had.
Pop your feet out of the boots every few hours for just a minute or two and let the little piggies breath.

Water levels are down in the winter but it's still hard to stay away from water and find deer it seems...I seen on thp some stand alone wader legs and I think they said wiggys...would be much easier in dryer terrain....

Wader legs, extra socks, towel and boot covers....more crap to carry aaaaahhhhhhh

Those tingley boots are as light as crocks. My plan for next year is to wear them in. Shed them at the tree, then throw on my warm socks and hiking boots before climbing the tree. The boots are a little bulk but without the weight. My pack won’t mind it at all.

I went to no rubber boots this season and saw a marked improvement. On the coldest days, I tried out those hot hands toe warmers that adhere to the bottom of your sock below your toes. They actually work very, very well. I thought they would slip off on my long walks and they didn't. I just wore a high quality merino wool sock and either uninsulated for early season or insulated hunting boots. I posted about it somewhere else. Also, I went to gaiters this year. I listened to a Clay Hays YT episode on it and tried it. I'm convinced they not only keep your feet and legs warmer but also help minimize ground scent. I didn't have any reaction from deer that I noticed any different than wearing faux rubber boots (you really can't find real rubber boots anymore) and my system this year. The added advantage was no sweating of my feet. I also religiously place my boots on a Peet boot dryer every night. I've done this for years.

Although, most of my hunting spots are not in and around much water..... I'm mostly an upland hunter.

I guess technically the temps aren't dangerous here...I could just say screw it and not worry about staying dry and suck it up and get wet with my early season quick dry pants, no socks and air dry and layer over once dry....I mean my feet will be cold whether I keep them outta the water or not so what's the difference...not like my toes gonna fall off. As long as I don't dunk my boys I think I can deal with cold legs for 45 minutes.... @gcr0003 maybe ur towel suggestion has some merit after all. Hahahahaba

Check out Dans waders or coon hunter supply. They will make some custom waterproof hip waders that you pick the boots for. good for swamps and briarproof/"snakeproof" if thats any concern. not cheap but they last and not much more than a pair of good knee highs

no. i guess i should read the thread and not the last 3 posts

its yoders glued and sealed on to the boots.

Yep.... They are great but my footies get cold in them
yea we gotta have 2 pairs in MD. One with insulated boots in the winter. the smell of an insulated year round boot is something special. I would rather have a week old dead skunk in my truck.
