Hawk Helium Super Mini

There's the 3 I can make for now. Need more standoffs to finish the set. They don't stack the best so that might be something to tinker with

I don't really see how stacking them on top of each other, while having several stacks would be any more packable.

Might not be for some, but for me I just need them to fit in my pack so I can zip it shut with them in there. Otherwise they catch brush and there's that metal tink noise when the brush hits the sticks.

Would you be using a larger volume pack than what was pictured in the OP? I'm probably just making a bad guess at the pack size and size of the nested sticks.
I'm at the point of cutting sticks and adding aiders as well. Using the leverage stick
So it's always good to see what direction everyone else is going for ideas

I cut mine in half so I can make two sets. I made the first set and they are 15 1/2 inches long and I can climb 21 feet with no problem. I also modified the way they stack.

That's the pack I'm using. Pretty much a school bag with camo pattern. Got it on sale a couple years ago. Hoping to get a better pack next year

I like the way you bolted the stand offs and the steps with the same bolts. Wish I would have thought of that.

It was hard with a drillpress, probably near impossible without one.

So your pretty much building a double step LW mini stick. I've been hunting with 4 mini's for years and like them a lot. They are 17". I've always used and adjustable 1 step webbing aider with them when I needed extra height.20180328_073335.jpg

4 minis alone no aided how hi do you get? I've been back and forth on cutting my 4 full sized ones down. And I'm still not as comfortable with aider as I want to be.

16-20' depending on tree. I'm a lanky 6'4". I almost always use a loop of webbing on the first one to get an extra 3-4', which regularly puts me around 20...

Thank you. I'm 6ft but getting more broken with time. 3 regular sticks and an aider on 2 got me as high as my house. But it was a gnarly tree and I could spaced them further...
This many people using aided can't be wrong. I'm probably going to cut my sticks down.

I'd like to build a 16" double mini step and use one aider on the bottom stick..think I could reach 17 ft?? I'm 5'11"

I would leave an inch of stick above the top step to put the aider on. More chance of the stick kicking out with the aider on the bottom step
