Hello from NJ

Hey all,

New guy here, currently stationed at McGuire AFB in NJ, originally from upstate NY. I have been hunting on my own for 13 years, and this season was my first ever using a tree stand (climber). While I have definitely seen more deer out of the stand, I am not a fan of it getting hung up on brush and the noise that can raise the dead when climbing and setting up. I kept hearing people talk about saddles on various pages I follow, and have entered a rabbit hole it seems! I will be looking for a saddle probably for next year as finances are tight now with christmas and birthdays coming up. I have looked into the Aerohunter Kestral so far, and the steppladder from wild edge. Trying to decide which route to go and see what other saddle options there are. I look forward to interacting with everyone and scouring the info on this page!

Wellcome mike im in nj also shamong a little south of u i have a kestrel if u would like to try one out.. there great just spent a week in it not sore at all way better than climbers or hang ons. Good luck

Welcome to the site Mike! I'm in north jersey now but I grew up about 20 minutes away from mcguire. We used to go to the airshows their often when I was a kid.

Thanks, we went to the air show last summer and it was pretty cool. I've only been at McGuire for about 2 years, spent 4 at Dover before this. I drive through north jersey everytime I go home, I'm from the catskills in N.Y.

Cool! I spent 2 nights on a mountain in the catskills hammock camping over the summer. I was planning to go back to hunt a couple days this fall but life got in the way.
