Thanks! Wow, that pdf makes it look like I’m way to dumb to do that! looks like I would need a pro to come teach me! And it looks like $100’s of more dollars in gear! But it does look like it would do the trick.

You should not use your ropeman like this. The goal of the lifeline is to catch you in the event of a fall. A ropeman is designed to hold your static weight as you ascend, not to catch a fall. There is a good chance that it would damage your rope and fail in the event of a fall.Would this also work with a ropeman? So you could just put a really long line from hunting height to ground then clip your carabiner on to say your bridge, then the ropeman onto the safety line and just slide it up as you go?

Yea. I wouldn't reinvent the wheel on this. For example look at the muddy and HSS lifelines. I believe they all use prusiks. What would you recommend? Would a prussic knot be better or what method do you think?

Also remember a prussik only gets hard to move after you put weight on it. It’s easy to move up a lifeline but it helps to either tie the bottom off or tie it to your pack and use it as a pull up rope once youget set up.What would you recommend?
