IS it possible to like scouting and trying to get others on deer compared to Hunting? ( Hunting Depression )

I dont think any of it has to do with the hunt.the atack on a man's spirit never starts in gods country .the wilderness is his church. Its where we rejuvinate.it begins in town.low lands flood for a reason.they dirty.always been anti religious.but you dont throw the Baby out with the bathwater.one day i had angziety and out of know where i started saying the Lords preyer over and over.i dont know how because i didnt have it memorised.i didnt even think i was saying it right untill i looked it up.and yet it settled a freight train.i Was so weirded out by it cuzz i thought that was a strait religious thing.but after much contemplation it dawned on me that is is the true Form of medatating on the most high.1 love

I think it's also important to realize that some of what you are feeling is a natural aging process in the outdoors superimposed on a lot of your baseline feelings and struggles. All of the avid hunters I know who are now 55+ seem to go through a similar transformation where the passion becomes more relationship-based than kill based. I like to think of it as a whole new way to enjoy the pursuit. I've lost some very close people too and I know the weight of yearly anniversaries. Keep your chin up brother. Maybe there is an organization near you that takes veterans hunting, could help give you some reasons to scout and help rather than be the sole hunter

Keep pushing forward, your awareness will help you cope
You have a good plan here with mentoring or putting others on deer.
I put a lot of pressure on myself in hunting and life for no reason. Feels selfish at times because I’m just sitting by myself, while I have an amazing family , career and life.
It’s part of getting older and growing “wiser”?
I text with a number of local guys from here all season, helps keep it light and shared experiences tend to put things in perspective.
Yes , Exercise and diet really can carry in to many other areas of life. Check out a group class if you have any options near you at a Y , fitness chain or even jujitsu, yoga or CrossFit .
Classes become part of a routine and conversation is good for you.
Same with Faith / church it helps quiet the mind proven by many better men than me.
Oh and good reminder I need to call my brothers and check on them.
Truly sorry for your loss.
