John Eberhart - Scent control regimen

@John Eberhart,
After your hunt you put your scent lok clothing back into the totes. What do you do if they are wet and need to be dried? Load them and dry them later? I presume hanging them in a garage would expose them to all the kinds of odours you are trying to avoid.

Can you explain this part of your procedure please.

Or is at simple as reactivating everything in the dryer?

In the snow I am always wet. Good question.

Scent lok - I use it. Does it work for me or even help. Subjectively I am not sure. But I have to wear clothes and I am sure if it works it will only work for certain personality types. Me I am likely not thorough enough for it to work well but maybe it helps

Those who love perfectionist details
Maybe it works
I wish I was as successful as @flinginairos or @John Eberhart Or Dan Infalt

Some use scent lok and some do not
So how many bucks you kill may or may not indicate whether scent lok works because those three guys kill nice bucks
I use scent lok and don’t kill nice bucks. Is that because of scent lok No

Arguing about this is pointless and a point of faith and objective opinion and leads to a wee bit of emotion

@MJH and @Ontariofarmer,
I bring an empty scent free tote bag with me for used ScentLok that needs reactivation or drying. This way you don’t contaminate/soak any fresh ScentLok that’s in your clean tote and you’re also not leaving it out to absorb other unwanted odors. When you get home, dry it and store it with your clean garments.

Putting yourself in position to be successful at killing deer ( particularly mature bucks ) has more to do with experience and practice than it ever does your scent control regimen. I assume this is why @John Eberhart focuses so much on destination locations. After all, if a deer isn’t in a particular area then how can it smell you?

It would be a real shame if I had to ban all talk about scent control on this site. I am SICK of the bickering and members attacking each other. Why do you guys care so much how someone else hunts??? If it works for you, keep it up. If it doesn't, drop it.
Scent control hunters- if you feel it works, consider that you have a leg up on the guys who don't use it.
Non scent control hunters- If you don't think it works, consider that you have a leg up on guys who use it.

Unfortunately this topic brings out the worst of people. I'm locking this thread and any other threads that get out of hand.
Come on guys, its Christmas.

Merry Christmas.

Non scent control hunters- If you don't think it works, consider that you have money in your pocket then guys who use it.

Fixed it for you Red! Bwahahahaha

I’m getting my 3 year old daughter some scentlok diapers for Christmas. I’ll post all pertinent information in this thread in 1 week. Until then everyone please SHUT UP and Merry Christmas!!!!:D

I don't think a 96-99% absorption of the scent will be enough in this case.....so please do report back :)

Can you put a diaper in a tote with a scent lock jacket and report back?

Ok now someone’s gonna get a fat lip over comments like this. If your daughter is 3 why not just potty train her? Unless this is some kind of code phrase for you have finally reached the age where you’re having to wear diapers yourself. :sob:

She just turned 3:grin:. And the poor thing is mortified when we get her near a toilet.

I feel the same way when I’ve eaten too much spicy food. I understand completely.
