Well that’s you. I use every piece of gear i own.

Even take out my Grandpas 60 yo smooth bore 16 gauge to kill squirrels once every year.

I think it’s dumb to sell everything and buy new but i’d not tell you to not do that it’s your money. Things become more valuable to me the longer i own them.
I don’t sell everything. I just don’t need to own multiple bows for example. I would see the need for it if maybe I hunt, shoot 3-d etc.
I’m not a fan of keeping something (just to have it)...or if I use it one day a year, or need to make a concerted effort to use something so I can justify keeping it.
There are only so many days in a year...most people don’t have time to shoot 5 diff bows, 10guns etc etc. it ends up becoming a “job” to use all of that.

Having a bunch of guns, bows(or whatever).....is like having a bunch of kids. If you have 2-3 kids for example....you can give them plenty of quality time and attention etc. But when you have a BUNCH of kids....the kids get very little individual attention. It’s math...there are only so many hours in a day, so no matter what mental gymnastics the parents go thru to try and convince someone that they spend a lot of individual quality time with their kids....it’s mathematically impossible. The parents have a bunch of kids because they can....not because they should. Same kinda goes for large hunting, or car, or motorcycle etc collections. They are just that.... “collections” like stamps.

I couldn’t care less if someone has a dozen bows or whatever (people can spend their money however they see fit)...but I do enjoy watching them go to great lengths to justify WHY they have them. Jmo

Love following these types of threads and seeing the hoarders and OCD people chime in on how proud they are of owning far too many (guns, bows, saddles, etc etc). These people will then go through some crazy mental gymnastics to justify why they need 10 bows, 13 guns, 38 tree stands etc etc.
Obviously my good sir you are NOT a serious outdoorsman and how do I know this without having ever met let lone know you?
Deductive reasoning my good sir, simple deductive reasoning. I can tell by your statement you are the type of casual hunter who knows EXACTLY how many guns, bows and the number of any other weapon he uses to hunt or owns and until the day dawns you own so many guns, bows and other types of hunting equipment you can not dare to even hazard to attempt to accurately state exactly just how many you own without first consulting a computer print out, you sir shall unfortunately remain among the ranks of causal amateur.

But do not DISPARE there is hope for you yet!!!!

If truth be known I am at that stage of my hunting equipment endeavors I own two if not three of everything I'll ever need or use and honestly need not buy any more hunting equipment of any type whatsoever, EXCEPT that is for treestands, and literally only treestands and treestands only of a mobile design as I have enough ladder stands for at least the next 5-8 years. I own no less than five sets (two steel, three aluminum) of climbing sticks, twenty Jim Stepps, dozens and dozens of Cranford SITS, one 20' aluminum Centipede climbing ladder, two 20' steel strap on ladders,

Hence the time spent here researching saddles. As I have many many more ways to get into a tree than I have ways to hunt from a tree and to be honest I can not afford to buy as many hang on stands as I have climbing systems so that's why I am going to give a saddle a try and hopefully can get a TX5 ordered sometime in the next 8-10 weeks.
I would like to own both a TX5 and a JX3 but those two combined represent spending closer to $700 than $600 and the JX3 would be purely a want/luxury after I buy a TX5 which I actually need as i do not own a public ground legal hang on stand let alone a light weight mobile public ground legal hang on stand.

To be 100% honest I will not allow myself to EVER add up just how much $$$$x1k I have tied up in hunting gear. He!! I have no less than 16 pairs of boots (10 rubber, 5 leather,1 rubber/leather) for deer/elk and turkey hunting alone, granted a good number of those boots my sons can also use, but those boots never get used for anything but hunting and some are over 20 years old and still going strong.

Certainly (stated with a hint of envy) not a shortage of disposable income being among them.
You buy saddles like I buy reloading equipment and components.

Yeah, I reload, too. I kind of have that dialed in, though. Currently only reloading for two centerfire calibers.

Me too, as I've regretted almost everything I've sold except an automatic .22 rifle.

All arborist saddles here.
An older TreeMotion, a new TreeMotion SuperLight, two Buckingham Ergovations, one is mine the other is my girlfriend’s, a first gen Matt Cornell rope saddle that needs to be assembled still, a kid’s CMI rock harness, and a kid’s New Tribe basic.
In storage there’s a beat up Weaver Cougar and a more beat up Buckingham Traverse.

Good fun getting a bunch of folks in a big tree during parties and cookouts, the kids love it.
