Kestrel Sizing

Looking for input on sizing for the Kestrel. I am 5'11" and about 230. and a 38" waist. Looking for input on size 1 or 2. In just the skimming I have been doing I have seen mixed opinions. I dont know how much late season hunting I will be doing with it right off the bat so heavy layering might not be a issue but you never know. Any input is appreciated!!! Thanks

I originally had the size 1 ,because I was on the borderline according to the sizing chart.i exchange it for the 2 .very happy with it

I’m 5’8” and 215 have size 1 and love it. Have used it 17 days straight. After hearing about the hip pinch issue and found out the 2 has more material in it I ordered a 2. I sold my 1 last week in classified but the deal fell through. So I have decided to try both before getting rid of the 1 I like it a lot. It took me a while to get it right. Started with eye level tether now I have it a little over my head most sets.

My only complaint about a size one is if I have anything attached to my kestrel it wants to fall down off my butt. I am 36 inch waist and 200 pounds.. 5 foot 10. Do you think a size 2 might fix that by riding higher on my hips.

I have a size 2.I am 5'11" weight is 214 it fits me great. I set in cold weather for the first time with heavy clothing on and the fit was perfect no hip pinch and it did not ride up on me. All I can tell you is to make sure your waist belt is snug and the leg strap is tight. This sure keep it in place.

I'm not sure that would make a difference. The kestrel waist portion is not very rigid. You will have to tighten the belt down good to keep it from riding down with weight. I have a dump pouch with my tether and lineman's belt on mine and it stays up. But anyways, the size 1 and 2 are very similar in that regard.

Hard to say. 5’7” 180 and I have both. I can use both but I like the size 2 a bit better.

I'm 6'3" and 210 pounds. I originally ordered the size 1 but after reading a post that Red made I called and changed the order to a size 2. It's seems to be fine and I haven't seen any downside getting the larger size. Hope this helps.

I am 5 foot 10 200 pounds with a 36 inch waist.
I am sure either would work. So no worries whatever you decide. But Red has both and I am bigger than he is. So if you still have a choice get a size 2

Yeah. I think I might call and get the size 2. If there is no downside or added discomfort from going to the bigger size then I will do it.
