Mine did the same thing the other day. Just using a Titan strap right now. The Titan straps have a metal buckle that the strap feeds through. The sticks themselves worked great.

Yeah I love the sticks so far. Just that they said they would ship me a new strap and didn't....oh well, I have other straps.

This was posted on a latitude advertisement.. wonder how many of these have broke in the field this year.
They really emphasize routing the rope correctly like it shows in the manual. Not sure that they could prove that it was tied off incorrectly but it makes you wonder if that’s part of the issue with broken tabs. So far so good with mine.

I think it was attached incorrectly too. As uncomfortable as I am with those tabs, I don’t think they would break if routed across the stick before setting.

After some time spent 2TC recently, I think that's going to be the winner for me over using multi sticks. May be selling my unused 4 pack soon.

I need to try 2TC again I just need an all encompassing shopping list.

Honestly, I just got the foot loop from cgm and just use my existing lineman and tether (except the linesman as a tether now). CT rollnlocks as my progress capture though the more experienced 2tc crew uses accessory cord/prusiks I think. It's a very low bar to entry re: gear needed, if you've been climbing a different way you likely already have almost everything you need.

I’ve straight up abused mine. No issues at all. I think those posts (showing the broken tab) are just about worthless. No context at all.

No… not worthless. A reminder to make sure you are running the attachment correctly and relying on the post of the stick to bear the weight not the tabs.

I asked the guy if he set and tied the sticks off as recommended.. he said he did.. who knows though.

Honestly it doesn’t matter to me either way, I’m just happy he’s ok. I shouldn’t have even said what I did. Truth is I like mine and they work good for me. Other people may have differing experiences and that’s ok.
IMO the most important thing is that everyone gets back to their family safe.

Considering the things I've seen arrive damaged by the shipping company I'm not surprised. They can be unbelievably rough on stuff.

I'd give more credence to someone saying it broke when they stepped on it.
