How do you like that Tucktec? my neighbor has a set of them and swears by them, but im not totally convinced yet. I hope to try it out this summer sometime.

I bought it in 2007. It's a rebranded Old Town, with a cheaper polymer. IIUC, Royalex has 5 layers laminated together, this version just has 3. Or something like that. And it has a kayak-style tractor seat instead of a traditional bench seat, which I really like for a double paddle. It doesn't have a midships portage thwart so I kinda balance the seat on the back of my neck to carry it; if I'm going to actually portage it I need to pack a separate thwart to do so. It's my go-to solo fishing platform, and I've taken it hunting and camping as well. I installed an accessory thwart behind my seat with 3 PVC 'torpedo tube' rod holders, and an Atwood adjustable rod holder. It fills up very quickly so if I'm on bigger water with bigger waves I bring a bigger boat. I tend to gravitate to smaller, more private lakes and rivers anyway. Hooking into a big pike in a 40# 12' canoe is a trip! I hope you find one!

I'm a born and bred Midwesterner, but my .mil time was alongside a bunch of Texans, other Southerners, and even a few Aussies. Later on I worked with Canucks and Texicans and other native Spanish speakers. I picked up "y'alls" and "yous'uns" and "g'day/good day" and "chingaso" and probably several dozen other examples I'm not even aware of. Hell of a shop find yesterday;
2010 riverhawk 13 footer with a trailer. Boat looks like it’s been sat in a total of 10 times.
2005 Johnson 9.9 with less than 50 hours on it, and garage kept for her whole. Took the hood off and I thought I was buying a new motor off the showroom floor.
Old man bought both brand new, fished the savannah river 5 times, and put them in the shop.
Excited to get this old girl some new use

So far on my 14ft StarCraft, I’ve extended the trailer tongue 2 foot, stripped and sanded all the paint off the boat ( which isn’t a fun task), and put 2 coats of gluvit on the bottom of the boat which seals and protects the aluminum, made a new transom board with plywood screwed and glued together then put 3 coats of epoxy on all sides to keep it from rotting.
I still have a lot to do, but I’ve already bought most of the supplies. Up next is primer, paint and clear. Frame up the floor and pour foam. Frame up the “bench” in the back and casting deck up front. Run my wiring for trolling motor, navigation lights, led light bar, bilge pump and maybe a few other things. Put the jackplate and 15hp motor on.
Going for something similar to the picture below but I’m going to use hydro Turf instead of carpet.

Getting my kayak duck pond ready. Zip tied a bunch of grass to the burlap for the front. Built a pvc frame to elevate the blind in the back, help hide my head and add some depth to it. Finally built a kayak cart to make dragging this thing back into places easier.

I like the bright green bottom of the boat. I've had the thought that if things get weird and I need to get rescued I wsnt to make it easy for the rescuers. Blaze orange vest and bananas in my pack, etc. Never got around to painting the bottom of my solo canoe rescue orange but I should.
