That is an awesome looking spot!
That's what i thought and nothing came out. I will push in further next time...
There was fresh droppings under the apple trees and in the field. The poplar i climbed was branchy but the platform climb made that manageable. And the Rappel down was fun as usual.

Good luck ya'll, let's see some blood. I will be in the saddle Friday and Saturday. I am not holding out for anything special, because my cameras aren't showing anything special. Anything past a yearling might die.

Out this morning on the start of my 2 week vacation through the “October Lull”. Gonna see if I can’t make that a false phrase for me this month. I’ve see a doe and fawn, a turkey, and a black bear. Gonna move around and scout my way around for fresh sign this afternoon.

Back at it again this morning. 3.5 hour drive up in the saddle, beautiful morning, 7:18 sunrise. 7:30 I hear the neighbors tractor start, NOPE the guy that plants tobacco in our fields sent one of his guys over to cut the grass around the fields, ARE YOU SERIOUS??? So I get down and ask the guy how long. Less than an hour, but way to screw up a beautiful morning. One up side I did find these fresh tracks 20 yards from my tree. That would be a nice first saddle kill.KIMG0209~2.JPG

That might be me tomorrow morning. I brought the pop up blind just in case. Heading home around 11- noon tomorrow. Rain is setting in for 3 days around that time.

UPDATE. Not a buck or a bear for my first saddle kill, but 3 gobblers came in to the field at 80 yards. I called and worked the biggest to 50 yards. Center punched him an inch below his 10.5 inch beard. I will post a pic later. Just cleaned him and put him on ice. Headed back out for the afternoon. Saving the other 2 turkey tags for spring. Now it is just deer, bear, and coyotes.

First official sit. Had a doe come in not long after setting up, but it was still too dark to shoot. Hoping the rest of the day goes well!

I had a 1.5 year old buck in range yesterday afternoon but he got a pass. It was good to have a deer close though. He freaked out when i lowered my bow down to get out of the tree, haha.

Corner of some crp/brush with tons of trails coming to the oak that's RAINING acorns. And this guy seems lost. He's been by three times and I'm assuming just spooked the three does that ran through the brush from the direction he just went.
