Gear Grappler to the rescue!?

I climbed into an oak tree this morning. Got blown at on my way in,but they didn't know what i was. Half hour after sunrise a doe sneaks in behind me,i think she was following my entry trail. I couldn't turn or draw, she was too close. Then her button buck was watching as well. She turned back and he came to the base of the tree. It was awesome having deer so close, too bad i had no shot opportunity at the doe. Beautiful morning though.20201011_082109.jpg

Another family group approached later and this time i was ready. Got my bow ready and waited. They were about 45 yds and the lead doe hung up. I was confused. Then i watch her put her nose up and sniff sniff sniff, then she turns and walks away, everybody in tow.
The wind did not go anywhere near that area all morning, but when i dropped milkweed after the encounter it did. Shifty breeze messed me up.
I climbed down after that. Great morning though, lots of encounters.

Not in the saddle today, but here's my buck from yesterday. I couldn't be happier. This is my biggest buck to date, and I'm not convinced I could have pulled it off from a climber.

Had opening week off. Day 1, saw a doe 20 mins in and she winded me. Day 4 saw a buck midday and 5 does after dark. No shots available. Buck came in and by the time I came around the tree he was gone. Day 5 saw a doe after dark.

Just saw 2 does walking down the middle of the street by my fiances parents house coming from a large wooded area with no hunting.

My tactical sandwich carrier, ghetto fake finding Nemo sandwich box for the win.

Yesterday I had 2 bucks come by at 30 yards but it is so thick where I hunt no shot past 15 to 20 yards and thats my limit anyway with the recurve so on to today and it has been raining on and off all day and wind a little gusty but ended up seeing 2 does and of course with it raining I couldn't hear them coming and they came in behind me but never winded me just caught my repositioning movement and casually walk out of my life but such is the hunt just love being back swinging in my saddle in the breeze thank god for hunting season!!!! Good hunting everyone and stay safe!!

My son Hunter and I tried to go hunting today... well I forgot his stand at home, needless to say, good thing my mom lives near by. The wife picked him up so now it’s just me... a little disappointed. Ended up taking his location, it has lots of limbs so he probably wouldn’t of made it up quietly anyway. Took me almost 45 minutes with 4 sticks.
