Looking for examples of DIY stick/platform builds and input on same

How is side pressure and transitioning from step to platform? Do you step up to second step then down onto platform? It seems this should be the go to system but a lot of guys didnt like platform on a stick.

Yes, I go to the top step, set my tether then drop the platform and transition down to it. I haven’t had any issue with side pressure, but the platform is large enough that I can stand on it to turn around if need be.

Is this a lone wolf or xop platform?

I like the looks of that setup. What step distance and aider length did you use?

I didn’t measure anything. I put the bottom standoff and step at the bottom of the stick and built upwards from there. I added the platform next at about 4.5” to give plenty of room to get my foot on the bottom step without the platform being in the way. I then positioned the alumi button to where the platform would close
Over it. Lastly, I placed the top step just above the top of the folded platform.

Once that was done I tied my aider so my
Knee would be at the bottom step height when I stood in the aider.

Here’s some size comparisons of the three platforms I use....

Lone Wolf on a stick, scooter on a stick and stand alone XOP....

The XOP is bigger than the LW, but it it also substantially heavier than the LW.

I can offer some insight here I think. All these posts are helpful and great ideas. I tried this out myself (stick/platform mod) and decided quickly against using one. I alwaysset up with my platform (see vid) 90 degrees to the right or left of my top stick and slightly above. doing this allows me to pivot 360 degrees with absolutely no lateral movement of my platform or sticks(Muddy Pro). I was never happy with the mod to my stick. That being said it looks great and in theory should work . I just prefer the solid feel of a separate platform. See if you can try one out first. Find out how they pack these in and will that work for you. So little weight is saved by these stick mods I just prefer a traditional style DIY platform build or purchase. Good luck with your decision and stay safe.

I agree some for sure! I think the mod worked really well but I have a mission platform now. I completely prefer it over my DIY but for someone looking to be cost effective and has the set up laying around, it works awesome.

Hey Im diggin what you did here and going to try and replicate it. What did you use for spacers in mounting the lone wolf and did you take out the leveling bolt underneat? did you just tap your own hole on the stick or was there already one there? For both the platform and the cinch rope?
thanks and that thing looks great!

I drilled in my own hole, used the spacers from the seat, and left the leveling bolt in.
