LWCG Ambush Platform

I just spoke with Andre directly. He was extremely apologetic and helpful and said I will have a return label on the way shortly. He was very patient with me, as I am exhausted after being up 22 hrs straight with a sick kid and unable to speak straight. He did mention they are NOT happy with their manufacturer and are in the process of switching to a new one because of quality issues, and that replacement versa buttons have already gone out the door to most people. Extremely pleasant to talk with, and assuming everything gets squared away here without issue, I will keep my eyes out for a "gen 2" ambush in the future and give it some serious thought. If the versa button was my only issue I would probably be keeping it, but the off axis pivot of the hole in the platform for the post is no bueno for me.
As an update for anyone following this thread, As promised by Andre, I have received a return label and RA number.

I just put mine on my back, donned my tactisaddle, and walked 50 yards into the vacant woodlot by the campus.

I kinda like it.

Fits completely inside my frame. Doesn't snag on anything. Goes on the tree easily enough. Cams tight for me. Didn't break. Lets me spread my feet naturally, and gives me plenty of room to dance around. No pops and creaks. Good traction with my wet shoes.

It's getting hunted with this weekend for sure. Kicking myself for getting rid of those dang mini sticks. Guess I got lucky, because the only thing wrong with mine is the crooked bolt.

Yeah, I bet it pairs great with the tactisaddle!

Very great. The tactisaddle just disappears on you. Almost forgot I had it on and walked back into the building wearing it!

I'm going to try and put it on some more trees at my house and see how it does on the full gamut. The tree I tried was a perfect little bay tree.

Like others, disappointed to this point. Bent bolt on second sit even with being conscious of strap placement. Also, noticing some noise when I shift weight from side to side. Thinking about returning it and waiting for version 2.0

My platform had the same noise. Just put some stealth strips under the adjustment bolt where it contacts the platform. Hopefully the new versa button fixes the bolt issue.

I can wiggle my post back forth. It doesn’t look like that was drilled straight either. The holes coming in from the side of the platform rise from one to the other.

I posted this in another thread:

Following up on this, multiple bolts off center, and it appears the post pivot hole slightly off, this is going back. If they want to be the standard, this certainly isn't it. I wouldn't even expect this sloppiness from a Wal-Mart stand.

Mine has all the same issues listed above as well - asked for a return shipping label yesterday. Hoping the 2.0 will go out to the guys that paid for version one and made the leap first, who knows..

Did this fix the noise issue? My ambush must be a dimond in the rough. Everything is super close to center and being square. Havent had the chance to put it on a tree yet to test noise.

Mine arrived and the bolts appear to be centered but the post has 1 nylon washer that is getting demolished when I move the post

The post is also scraping the stand so some of the finish is scratching off

sounds like the holes are off like everyone else’s.

I talked to Andre this morning. He seemed very apologetic and embarrassed. Sounds like they pulled the contract from that machine shop and won’t be producing anymore platforms until that is ironed out.

For the price the products should be CNC soup to nuts. Waterjet is not very precise... that has nothing to do with freehanded drilled out holes but....

I was pleased after talking with Andrae. He made 0 excuses, admitted that the products were not acceptable, and made it clear to me that he wanted to fix the problem and have people hunting on the stand. I have an easier time forgiving mistakes when the mistake is owned up to.

Think they will send out new posts since that seems to be the problems (off-centered bolts). I'm on the fence on whether returning only because he's owned up to it. But if it's not going to function due to it making noise, then it's not really useable.

Agree... mine is still going back though. I will wait till they get there crap together and give it another go. I only have a couple more weeks before Bow season ends and muzzleloader begins. I will stick with my ROS for now.

then the problem becomes that pesky hole in the platform that’s drilled on an angle. I will wait it out and get one that is not screwed up

Just saw Nutter's post in the other thread where he did state a new post might be a possibility.

I'm not sure what exactly the plans are. I'm sure there's a substantial difference in the cost of mailing some bolts and having a machined post sent out. I know when I mentioned it was possibly a problem with the post, he immediately said if I determined that to be the case he'd get me one. But I'd be surprised if they just sent 150 people new posts without them being asked for.

Reach out to them and see. I'll be taking him up on his offer if I can't get my bolt reasonably straight. But I hope I can make it work without doing that because I'm honestly rooting for them now.

I have never paid much attention to lone wolf or the D'acquistos. I've heard some less than positive words about Andrae, but my only interaction with him left me with a good impression. It may be that he's a good dude, or it may just be that he's got enough business savvy to woo me over. But I'm a little more impressed by and interested in his company now.
