Hello everyone,

I am new to Saddle hunting, just received new Kestrel about a week ago. Having landed at home on a weekend with no ability to hunt i am going to try it out at 2 ft above ground in backyard later this am. I have hunted all my life first 20 yrs on public land in FL. In the past 15 yrs I have been blessed with access to good private ground and have acquired ladders and lock on stands. I am interested in saddle hunting as a means to get access to some setups which the other stands don’t easily afford particularly in tight spots like bedding areas. If i am truthful i am also just curious about the experience. I have attended Johns class this past summer and have read about saddle hunting on this forum for some time. I have an XOP platform and am trying to acquire a kit to affix it to a tree. I hunt south of Effingham IL nearly every weekend of the season and have been an avid bow hunter for 20 yrs. I look forward to interacting with members of this forum and learning the ins and outs of saddle hunting.
