You got the weedwhacker line tied between two sticks. Are them youngins tryin to cut the line with arrows? Are you at least letting them shoot broadheads to cut it. I would go with fixed 3 blades personally.
4 blade muzzy or slick tricks would be my choice for that game

And this is how new X games are born. Bravo sir!!!

I like that idea. Like a cross between stumping and 3D shoots. Only the target is you pass the arrow underneath the weed-whip string stretched between the stakes. Do I have that right?

Exactly right!

Regular arrow tips turned out to be great for the younger kids because they tended to fling arrows well before the wicket but they still skipped forward toward the "hole" (at least this was true in my dirt yard anyway). I recommended older folks use a judo or ACE or something.

I see 3Rivers has a "universal archery golf arrow"; instead of a blunt it has a hard rubber ball, fletched with flu-flus. You could probably cut the head off an 8-32 machine screw and epoxy it into a golf ball. Wouldn't be the same as stumping with hunting arrows but for yard games with the kids, just about perfect.

Great idea! Wonder if a golf ball-tipped arrow would skip straight across the street?

Probably! Lighter-poundage bow and flu-flus paired with effective backstops would probably minimize that. I think 3Rivers uses different targets, looks like a pop-up mesh laundry basket sort of things.

Stacked up some pan sized sunfish with the kids yesterday morning. They helped me clean um up yesterday afternoon and we're gonna beer batter um tonight. My 3 year old just started casting on her own yesterday and my son is finally starting to get the hang of keeping his excitement at bay while reeling lol. He told me, "dad, I remembered what you said! 'pull up, reel down'". Making me proud!

Checkout the birthday cards my girls (5 and 7) made for me:

It would appear that I need to talk to the 5 yo about always wearing a harness in the tree, and also that she's drinking the ranch fairy FOC koolaid. Can't complain about the size of fish my 7 yo daughter thinks I catch either (or the giant deer for that matter)
