Sorry man. I became a Bruin fan in 1970 when Orr flew thru the air (incidentally, when they swept the Blues). Back in those days, it was almost impossible to be a Penguin fan. They were rarely on TV and hockey barely got mentioned in Pgh newspapers.NBC had a weekly hockey game on and it was usually 2 the original 6 playing, or one of the 6 beating the crap out of an expansion team. As a 12 year old in 1970, it was easy to be a Bruin fan. It's been a bad habit that I've never broken myself from. They've broken my heart on many occasions.
Don't get me wrong, I like, and root for the Pens. But following the Bruins has been a 49 year habit for me.
Actually, there is probably no other Western team I'd like to see win than the Blues. They've never won, they are an American team and not from The Republic of Kalifornia.

I don't think the Bruins can win the next 2.

And there are 2 things you will NEVER hear me say...Go Flyers (I had trouble even typing that), and I got a new crossbow.
Neither will ever happen. Write it down.

I'm a Leaf's fan... talk about having your heart broken a few (hundred) times. Not a band wagon jumper and no I did plan the parade route when they signed JT. As a leaf it becomes almost impossible to be a Bruin fan. Even if your teams poor management gave the Bruins some of the players needed to make them great.

Leafs, Leafs, Leafs......goodness gracious how long are we going to have to read Leafs posts during the finals? Maybe they should change their name to Maple Barks and then they wouldn’t fall off at the end of the year.....

Lol. As long as there's hockey you will hear it. And if you read the post above it you have the context.

Not concerned about the context, just concerned with working in my jab

Our local hockey team (ECHL) used to be affiliated with the bruins, but now they’re independent. Johnstown Chiefs relocated here in 2010 so I guess I’m simply a fan of old time hockey, like Eddie Shore.

ECHL is still some dam good hockey. Our Jr. Team coach came up to coach the Caps for a bit so our local hockey has been pretty darn good. Lots of guys that have become stars in the show come through here.

Yessir.

When we first got a hockey team the bruins came through to play an exhibition. I was in the zamboni entrance tunnel when several of the players walked out to see the arena. They were amazed at how nice it was and commented that it was better than 3/4’s of the ones they played in during the season. It’s just so damn hard to get people in SC to realize just how great of a game hockey is.

Its the best.
Fast, hard hitting, high level of skill. Everything is hard...the ice, the boards, the puck traveling 100 mph, and the hits. I cant believe the goalies used to no wear masks. Tough guys!
Id like to see any player from another sport deal with the hits and the injuries that hockey players do.

I can see that, I mean it's pretty nice weather most of the year there I Imagine. I doubt the kids are growing up skating on frozen ponds there. It is too bad though it's fun and its fast and there are teams and leagues for all ages and skill levels.

Cheering for St Louis. I coached Ryan OReilly when he was 7 in a house league in Seaforth Ontario
He was better than all the 12 year olds way back then. Fun to see and disclaimer I had nothing to do with his success ... haha. His dad is a trainer and was a big influence
Go Blues

My nephew was signed by Bobby Orr's agency when he was 15.
He got to skate with several pros including McDavid. The kid definitely has a chance of being pro someday.

Cool. I played hockey for years and nobody ever wanted me on their team. But it was fun I played on a team in University house league for four years and lost every game except for one. Ruined our record.

I played a little, too. Men's league type of stuff. Available ice time for games was hard to come by. We often dropped the puck at 3 or 4 in the morning. But we felt like big league. Sure beat pond hockey...real nets, boards, smooth ice that we didn't worry about breaking and falling into the lake. Been years since I laced them up. Too busy hangin in trees I guess. I like this better.

I played hockey until my knees said no. I was 55 years old and took up a new hobby. Hunting. I cannot say which I like better. I guess there is a season for all things.

For me hockey is a great game, but that's all it is...a game.
Hunting on the other hand is pure reality. Nothing makes me feel more alive than bow hunting.
