Hi Group,

Deer season is finishing up next week and I have had a great season with 3 does in the freezer. I am looking to next year's season and will be starting to prep trees to hunt with my saddle. I would really like to prep about 7 to 8 oaks that are within 30 yards of apple trees. All of these spots are on public land and require nothing to be screwed in to the trees. I am avoiding the use of gafts currently. What ways does the group use to prep trees for topropping "RADS" into trees. I was thinking of using either 100 grade 5/8 chain with a rated quick link or a tree sling like these from wesspur with a locking stainless quicklink

Any thoughts or advice? Thanks in advance!

I'd you're using RADS you are using SRT and you don't need the friction sleeve. Just throw it and leave some paracord behind for a pull up line. I have pull up cord that's been in trees for over two years and is still doing good.
