Out on a limb platform

Does the mesh grab onto the bottom of your boots good? I know on my millennium the mesh grabs my feet really well so there is no slippage.

I think the millennium and muddy stands with the mesh on them also have welded mesh, oriented with thethe short edge of the mesh is running vertically instead of flat, which grips awesome--my muddy bloodsport had this and it was a great feature.

The way the strap attaches makes me a little nervous. They look to me like they could easily slip off. I think its my gorilla sticks that have hooks off to the sides, sometimes even though I take care to get the strap on the hook, during the course of tightening them they work out to the tip of the hook and only notice it when taking the sticks off the tree. This has happened many times.

I think he mentioned something about tweaking that. Putting the posts on at an angle for a little better hold, especially on bigger trees.

Thanks for posting the pics and your thoughts. I think it looks like a decent platform option. Definitely like the look of the angled posts better.

I been saddle hunting for along time also but I only have one Predator platform. It is a great platform but if they ever stop making it I can go back to my rope on cranford EZY steps or my Ameristep on a ratchet strap. But if you guys keep buying them I know you to get in touch with if I need one .lol

Closer look and the new angle post. He responds to messenger post quickly. How is noise when moving around. My stands that have bottoms like that have made grate like sounds if you dont pick up your feet.

I just received my Podium. I like that it folds small, it is easy to pack. Weighs 3 lbs. Seems solid. According to the owner, the design has been tweaked a few times based on feedback from hunters. The most recent pics: https://www.outonalimbmfg.com/product/the-podium-2/

I like that you can level the unit for leaning trees. I will provide more info. when I have a chance to check it this weekend.

After seeing all the pics and videos, It's looks feasible. I wouldn't be opposed to it for a preset.

Definitely interested in your review and whether you think its feasible for running and gunning. Hoping its a good alternative to the Pred 2, as I'm currently sans-platform, saddle-hunting on a budget (ha!), and debating which one to buy. Plus, $40 cheaper is nothing to smirk at as long as its rock solid, comparable in weight, and easy to pack. Please keep us posted!

It looks to me that this company is giving people exactly what they have been asking for, a larger platform, all while keeping the weight comparable to the predator. I like the upgraded design. This guy has really listened and acted on it. Looking forward to hearing some reviews, even though I’m not really a platform guy. I wish OOAL the best.

I inquired about a purchase several weeks ago through their "contact" page on the website. Never got an email back (yes, I checked my junk mail). I'm done with them.

I called and spoke to the owner. He explained the changes made to the platform. He then texted me 1/2 dozen pics of the unit and mailed the unit the following morning. Seems like a decent guy.

The guy does seem super nice. He responded to my questions on Instagram quickly and sent photos quickly on Facebook messenger. It seems like he has listend to what alot of people want in a platform. I am torn between WE steps and this as a platform. He also does alot of cool camera arms. Just saw a pic of a camera arm/gun holder for a wheelchair. Stuff like that hits my soft spot. Got mine in and love it. The strap needed to be stretched some just left it on tree in over night. A little time playing with it and I’m ready to hunt. I put a o ring on one post to keep strap on and that was it.

Would you mind shooting us a pic of the O ring mod?

I simply put a UV resistant cable tie on one side. The way the strap loop is designed it should be secure, see below. Would like to see the O-ring mod as well.
