Ozone Generator

Ran it in my car for 20min and next day ran it for 1hr 20min and not impressed. Had sons shoes in there, still smell. Car has funny smell to it, so it was working. Left doors open to air it out for 30min and drove it with windows down. Hope that its safe to drive it.

At room temp it takes 30 min for the first ozone produced to start breaking down. So, about 30 min after the last of it should start breaking down. If it's colder, it takes longer. I'd wait at least an hour after you turn off the machine before entering a room at normal room temperature. If the room is cold, you may have to vent it well before entering.

Wouldn't you be fine as soon as you put down the window? Figure that would push out the o3 heavy air and you'd be breathing whatever poured into the windows.

Is that not how this works?
Fawnzy, if I use a generator in a container, in a room, should I expect that I'm OK as soon as I open the container. Its 10 gallons of o3 heavy air in 300 square feet.

If you use it in a container and then open it, it will take a while for it to disperse.

If you can smell it, it's concentrated enough to damage soft tissues in your body. Think eyes, throat, lungs.

Crap its been several days and I can still smell it in my car.

No. by now it's broken down. But while it's being produced, if you can smell it. You shouldn't breath it.
Turn it off and after an hour you should be good at room temp.

Brings me to my next question. If this ozone is heavier than oxygen, should it be placed up high? For example in my car I placed it on a box that was as high as rear window. Would seem to me the ozone would pool on the floor and slowly build depth? In a room, would you want it on a ladder?

The smell of the ozone will remain on anything it comes in contact with and will lesson over time. (Days) The key is to allow the ozone time to break down before breathing it in.
Best not to use it in living quarters while people, pets or plants are present.
I have a big machine for my camp and do everyone's clothes at once in an empty cabin. I have a full faced mask with p1 rated air filters. I won't let anyone in while it's being used. Then I open the door and let it vent before the get their gear.

The higher, the better. I use a large plastic hose and lift it as high as I can.

Yes, place it high.

Picked one up on eders.com for $32. Gonna give it a try in my gear box and truck. I've got scent control crazy again after getting picked off 2x yesterday. Picked it based on amazon reviews and this article. Can't beat the price!!

It's definitely doing something. More to follow, but you can't beat it if it works for $32.

Bought a plug that allows me to run it off of my battery pack. Makes it more portable and I can use it on extended hunts in my boxes when outlets aren't readily available.

We mentioned that ozonics as being the most portable. Theoretically you could buy your own battery pack (one pictured is 10,400 MaH for $20) and a power cord adapter ($5) and the larger unit in this brand ($75) and be set up for to right at $100.

Ozonics isn't legal in PA so I won't be putting this together. If it were I'd try this approach before dropping $3-400 on ozonics for essentially the same thing.

@Prill87 how did they manage to outlaw Ozonics???
I'd love to see the wording on that law and find out how they spun the purpose.

@Maustypsu
This article explains it.

I haven't asked a game commissioner myself and I feel like I'd get different answers depending on which one I asked.

I could probably just use it but that'll be the day I knock down one of the slammers on my property so I'll wait until they legalize it.

I bought a unit for $70 off ebay that I also have used in the house for pet odor ect. I put it in a cheap $20 portable garment closet off amazon and let me hunting stuff have it. I air outside in the woods after for a few days. Then I throw it all in a tote with some cedard and pine and duct tape shut until the season. Just don't breathe the ozone in and let everything air out good.
