Painted my platform … scent?

I store all my stuff in a seal tight tote with a piece of cedar in it. Absorbs moisture, makes everything smell like a tree, and doesn’t leave any sticky sap like pine can. I’d paint it, hang it out of the weather to dry for a couple days then throw it in the tote with a small piece of cedar. Good to go!

Cedar's actually a good idea, esp if you hunt areas with cedar.
 
I usually give things at least a month to off-gas. Maybe two if it was multiple coats. I don't think a very faint smell will cause any concerns, but fresh paint might...at least I wouldn't take the risk. But the more time the better, and I will often try to paint things for next season 6 or more months in advance. But of course that is not always possible.
