Permethrin & Activated Carbon

What about spraying it on camo long sleeve t-shirt and thin pants, pull that on over your scentlok? Shouldn't be much if any warmer and if it doesn't work your not out much more than cheap Walmart camo.

Hunting in Scent Lok is going to be hotter that heck in 90 degree 90 percent humidity. Adding an extra layer would be death. I'd be willing to bet Scent Lok wouldn't even work in this case just because you would sweat so much. This would be no problem in cooler weather but then we won't have the bug problem the either.

I use permethrin on my scentloc and have had no issues. I would rather use it and not have to deal with chiggers and ticks

So I pose a question for those of you who spray your scent lok clothing with permethrin. What is your process?
Do you regenerate then spray with permethrin, or spray with permethrin then regenerate?

Just curious because i feel like the clothing would pick up odors while hanging to dry, or maybe i am being too scent crazy. Any insight here would help.

I'll be spraying first, dryer reactivation second
This is what I'm doing too. Seems somewhere I found a statement about permethrin not breaking down unless the temp is over 400 degrees (might have been on this site, but I looked all over and don't remember where).

So I'm going to hang my scent lok on a line, spray it with permethrin, let it line dry, then run the clothes through the dryer.

permethrin won't be affected by washing / drying up to 6 times - you will likely have it lose it's effectiveness at the 40 day theshold before you wash / dry it that much.

Well I guess I should return the two sets of Scent lok I just ordered before I try them on. I'm not going out there without permitherine on. I suppose any clothing will do then.

I agree wholeheartedly, of the two products, it's no question which one I can do without. One works and one is marginal at best.

This is another question likely discussed about scentlok. How hot does it need to be to deactivate. Will my drier get that hot? I hope this doesn’t open a can of worms.

Well, the word you’re looking for is “reactivate”, but because we know the temp it takes to reactivate carbon is 1500 degrees, apparently scentlok and their proponents are now using another word (that I can’t remember) something like de-absorb, which takes a temp of around 150. This your dryer can do. Does it actually make a difference? Heck if I know, there’s no way to prove it.
