I got a few of these carabiners for my tether and lineman's and they get stuck locked. I haven't even used them in a tree yet, just messing with them at the house and not putting any weight on them. I have to use a pair of pliers to get it loosened up. Anybody experience anything similar to this? I'm debating if I should send these back.

I'm thinking you should definitely send them back. I have some of those carabiners and I've never had that issue. It's not worth risking some sort of fault you can't see.

I have a couple and I haven't had that problem either. I'd send them back.

I called Petzl and a guy there thought I was probably tightening them down too far. He said just take it down until it just stops and don't give it that little extra twist to make it tight. I really didn't think I was doing it that bad but thought I'd give them another try. On the way home from work I picked up some wax lube (white lightening) and they're working just fine now. I can't get them to get stuck like they were. I'll give them a few test runs here by the house first before I take them to the woods. So hopefully they're okay now.

Sounds good. It probably was that simple. Petzl makes great gear.
