Platform advantage

Sounds like most prefer platform for comfort over steps. I used ameristeps this fall and sat between 6 & 8 hours at a time and didn't really have any noticeable discomfort in my feet. My gear addiction is telling my to pull the trigger on one to try it even though I don't think I will benefit from one lol.

It really isn't a comfort thing for me. That is a nice bonus. Primary benefit is less movement and ease of shooting to my weak side. These arent big isses when I am 25+ feet in a tree but definitely concerns when working in the 5 - 20 foot height range.

Another huge benefit of a platform is leaning trees. It's easier for me working with a short tether and a platform than fighting gravity around steps.

I use the gorilla tree seat, foldable seat on my presets...they can be tightened...very tight to the tree...I find that is all I need in preset trees...holds well in side loading situations....gets me all I need....when mobile, I use webbing with 6 ameristeps.

I have always used screw in steps an ameristeps for my platform. What is the advantages to using a Platform?

COMFORT!!! Much more comfortable on the feet and body alignment. I find my back does not bother me as much with a platform. I also find it easier to get into shooting position.
