I think there should be a stipulation that if you pick 10-20lbs u should have to mention your system in the comments! I don’t see how people are doing this. Unless u 2 Tether or something. Help teach a brother

I'd venture 20-30 with a pack, mid 20s probably; including pack/base weight ~13lb. *actually weighed* (Exo K4/waist pockets/ditty bag/kill kit/first aid/TP/pack fly/calls/etc.), saddle, platform (if needed), and climbing method. Excluding food (minimal), water (minimal), layers (biggest wild card), and weapon. Figuring my full Cruzr saddle kit weighs about 5lb. and the WEI Stepps are about 7lb.

Early season or when I don't need a pack (read layers), it's firmly on the low end in the 10-20 range. If I rope climb with the Mini-Drey, it'll be real light...

10.5 pounds- this weight includes the Eberlestock dagger pack, a light jacket (I know no clothes but that’s what was on there 2 years ago when I weighed it), piranta knife, 2 nitrile gloves, 25 ft repel rope, atc, repel pull string and 2 extra prussics for repel, small Nalgene, one stick with scout platform, tether (which doubles as my gear hanger), thermacell and monocular. I wear my saddle with attached lineman belt while hiking in.

Right around 17 pounds with everything. 2tc. cuts down on weight substantially. Was around 12 with a smaller Fanny pack but just couldn’t deal with just cramming stuff in. Had to switch back to a smaller day pack and that inherently added a few pounds and I added some small luxury items with the added room.

This is a 4 One stick setup w Pursuit platform and two extra steps on the strap, including weight of a Dryad, linemans, rappel rope and biners, paracord bow / gear hanger. No snacks, water, camera gear, or extra layers. Camera adds 1ish lb, water maybe another lb.+ If I were doing a deeper back or all day sit admittedly I’d probably end up over 20 lbs.

I weighed my pack last night. My pack weighs about 16 pounds. if I add my saddle, I'm about 19. I have the following setup:

Killik K2200 frame pack
Bullman platform ring of steps (6 steps and cam buckle)
3 lone wolf custom gear doubles with amsteel 18" aiders
flash light
headlamp
drag harness
pocket knife
small multitool
hand saw
tether
gloves
backband
gear strap

in addition, saddle and items attached:
Cruxr XC size 2
lineman's rope
single dump pouch with 40' of canyon elite 9mm
mammut 2.0
pocketknife
hoist rope

I do sometimes add a cruzr seeker platform. I could reduce my amount of weight by removing some items, but I like to be prepared and have backups. But this setup currently wors really well for me and if i wanted to cut weight i would work out more.

24lbs

JX3 Hybrid w/headrest and load lifters
tether and lineman belt
Range finder
10x42 binoculars
pull up rope
15 bolts, drill, pliers
limb saw
grunt call
rattle bag
kill kit (game bags, nitrile gloves, knife, trash bags)
light
empty hydration bladder
the large JX3 Versapack

On days when I go in with a full camelbak, I’m definitely over that 20# mark. My backpack alone with 3L of water is right over 20# and it’s just a small day pack with hydration bladder. It does lose a significant amount of weight to me actually drinking said water, so I probably average 15 lbs in the pack depending on water intake. I keep my rangefinder, some ritz crackers and granola bars, a few extra aluminum carabiners, bow wrench, couple of calls, hand muff, bowstring wax, two knives, mini saw, and an extra rope/accessory cord. Sometimes my AirPods and binos make it into the backpack, adding an extra pound or so. If I’m on public land and bringing my sticks/platform, I’m up another 13#. On the high end, 35# on public land, 20-25# on an all-day private land sit or if I’m hunting from ground on public.

Posting a photo on a scale should go hand in hand with this thread resurrection. I'd guess a lot of people that report 10-20 will find a larger number in the scale, particularly when they remember to fill up a water bottle or how many little Debbie's they actually take. I haven't weighed my pack but I'd be shocked if I was sub 20 lbs.

Edit: other than @tailgunner of course, we all know he has some fancy saddle with pouches that he stuffs helium balloons in to to lift him in to the trees. ;)

Elk hunting last week-end my buck naked load out down to the socks and car keys was like this.3 lbs cloths,.3 lbs.boots and gators.fanny pack with food everything to the toilet paper incuding 3.5 lbs of beverage.was 9.5 lbs.and my bow arrows and release 7.5 lbs.23 lbs buck naked for weldabeast.no mater if i use a clear bag all the camo blends together and the pictures realy dont prove anything....its just a heap.....with a bow

I was prepping my pack yesterday, I changed my vote from 10-20, to 20-30. Yes early season bare bones setup is 16-18, but have to admit in more scenarios I’m gonna run a little north of 20.

Best I could measure was just over 14.5# from last time I climbed. Even if I put my 3 TN sticks in I should still be under #20. X- wing/aider , saddle, rap stuff. Way too many Biners, a figure 8 a Safeguard. More crap than I use lol. I do take sticks and layers when it's cold but almost never take food or drink, the truck isn't that far
