It isn’t as deep as a tethrd predator but I like that personally because it keeps my feet closer to the tree and my top/heavier half pushes it further out. I’m lean 90+% of the time

Pursuit platform with 1 ameristep on each side of platform. When Using the original ameristep strap it did not tighten down enough to the tree. I changed to the cam buckle strap that comes with the pursuit platform and bam!! It’s legit !!

I kinda liked my Pre-set Solo Scout...
Added 2 Ameristeps and now I love it.

I think I'd like the Pursuit even more?

The platform will bend and flex if you don’t settle the strap as high as it will go on the inside. In other words, if you don’t get it up high inside the brackets, it will wobble at the top.

So if its not high enough, is there a chance of it breaking?

No. If the strap is higher it helps keep the top of the platform from pulling away from the tree. With the strap in the center of the platform there is equal distance from top to center and center to bottom. So when you stand on the platform with the strap in the middle the majority of the tension is put towards the bottom of the platform instead of distributing it through the bottom 2/3 of the platform. Which would make it much more stable and bite to the tree much better. Hope that makes sense. I’ll try and get some pics of all that when I get back on mine.

The question he asked wasn’t sincere.

It actually was. From the videos we have all seen with our own good eye on the good ol tube, the silly thing folds like a clam. We are just trying to figure out if maybe the guy that folded it like said clam, didnt put his strap high enough and what is the potential of accidentally not setting the strap high enough, lets say, in the dark. So you accidentally didnt set the strap high enough now what? Clam juice?

I experienced just a tid more flex from it then from my podium and, about the same as my homemade platforms. While you don’t have any idea about my homemade platforms, you should have an idea on how well ooal does things.

The podium is rock solid. I mean rock solid. As solid as any on the market. My homemade are wild edge steps with 3/4 plywood cut to fit them. And the only flex is when I’m standing on the edges. Which I do quite often to stretch my calf’s after hours in the tree.

To anyone that’s interested, this platform is a good one if the size of it doesn’t get you. Is it going to be as solid as a predator? If it’s like mine, you can bet your money it will be. If you strap it right. That’s the key.

In other words, If we all acted like the tree police, we can find fault in anything we don’t prefer. That’s as plain as I can make it.

There’s been much bs spewed about risking your life if you use this thing. I got news for you, if you fall out of the tree it ain’t the platforms fault. If it were to break off flush it still wouldn’t be the platforms fault. It’d be yours because you weren’t tethered in. Yet, we got guys running around blabbing nonsense because they don’t like it.

Don’t buy it then!!! It’s pretty simple really. Don’t buy it. Use what you like. But, talking about things from a position of knowledge, to only admit you haven’t hunted or ever seen one, makes you look like a real winner. I can’t remember the guys name who did that above but, he makes a habit of running from thread to thread doing it.

Anyways, You can take his opinion. Or, listen to the guys that has them. It’s your choice. While it hasn’t been hunted yet, my experience tells me it’ll do just fine. I’m betting most others will feel the same if the size works for them.

It ain’t the best. But, it’s a solid choice if you want light. Just for perspective, I’ll like a ros’s so,I find this platform totally acceptable. For a platform. I hope this helps anyone who has questions. If you buy one and don’t like it, I’ll purchase it off of you for an appropriate price. Good day gentlemen and May God Bless you this fall with safety and dead stuff.

Why don’t you go climb a tree in that J3 so you can tell us something you’ve actually experienced. Instead of your assumptions. I’d truly like to hear that versus your normal participation. It’s something you could use to teach people in the dark. Instead of posting cult photos trying to vindicate your constant badgering.

I truly don’t want to be so rude. And, I’m asking you literally to do as you defend. Help people make up their minds with some first hand observations. It’s a lot better and, you’d serve your purpose fully versus what you’ve been doing.

Hey I have been running a gen 1 predator for 3 years now with no issues , but everything is this world isn’t bulletproof, most guys torture their gear or don’t know what they are doing and break stuff and say it’s the products fault, but in reality it actually the user.

Yeah, I agree sometimes there are production flaws and what're ya gonna do. To bring this back around to the Pursuit Platform, Michigan Great Outdoors was contacted by Pursuit Platforms who admitted the platform should not flex like it did in the video review and asked for a return to check it out. I think that's fair. It's all covered in the linked video:

anyone have an honest weight on these yet (bare, no straps)? on one page of their website it says 16 oz and on another 22 oz.....in this case 6 oz is a big percent of total weight and it's a minimalist platform designed to be light, so that 6 oz matters to me
