Pursuit platforms

Im about there with the jx3. Just planning on using it on ground turkey hunting, and on tree at ground level during gun season. Im
Not sure I like a ROS but steps are good for me to climb with. Im looking to replace my diy cam over platform with something lighter

In my opinion a ROS is the way to go for the JX3. Dont need a platform. Just a way to move around the tree for a shot.

When buying this platform originally I knew it was gonna be smaller than a predator platform but I wanted to see if it would still work for me. The weight savings (22 ounces !!) was one of the major factors for me probably even more than the smaller size of the platform. I got the platform and realized I loved the weight but I couldn’t move around the tree quite as good as I could with the predator. (I think it’s because it didn’t stick out as far away from the tree.)

Today I got to put some more time in and I was trying to finalize my full pursuit platform setup. I added one ameristep to each side of the platform cam buckle strap. To help move around the tree for shots. By always keeping one foot on the platform during movement it really makes moving around the tree really comfortable to me.

400 lb weight rating. Wow!! That’ll hold this big fella. (5’11” 260#) Once u cam over the strap and step on the back side of the platform to get any remaining slack out it locks in and is a super sturdy platform! I moved around on it like I would in a hunting scenario and I didn’t feel unsafe on it all. It does have a lil give towards the outside corners when u are on one foot and trying to bounce or put all your weight on that one foot. (I’m not shooting at a deer off of one foot) In my opinion it feels like standing on semi soggy ground or damp leaves. Just a lil Cush. Not enough to make me think oh man it’s gonna snap or give out or slip. It just flexed a lil to compensate for the amount of pressure I was putting in that one certain area.

The platform isn’t solid plastic. It is a fiberglass reinforced nylon that is injection molded. The fiberglass will help make the platforms more rigid and stronger than just straight plastic. Long lasting, lighter and no more metal ding in the woods!

I did ask Brady about a coldness test on the platform (because I heard/seen others questioning it) and he explained they didn’t do any kind of deep freezer/sub zero strength tests on the platform. But him and several others who were using the prototypes used them last season in Minnesota and other northern states where it gets very cold through out hunting season and he said no one had any issues during the cold weather or noticed any issues during the cold weather.

With all that being said I’m super pumped to put this system to work this season. Hey it might not be for everyone but if u saddle hunt I would say don’t knock it till ya try it. If you have any questions at all reach out to Brady at pursuit platforms. He has been very open and informative about any and all questions I’ve sent his way. Give me a shout if you like I’ll give u my honest opinion. Good or bad.

Pursuit platform with 1 ameristep on each side of platform. When Using the original ameristep strap it did not tighten down enough to the tree. I changed to the cam buckle strap that comes with the pursuit platform and bam!! It’s legit !!

Buddy, I've shared your "New Gear Release" platform review post on here a couple of times for folks to read who were interested in the platform. I've mentioned this design in context of "soft platforms" as a potential way to skeletonize the things.

But I'd stick my tongue to the telephone pole before I'd hunt off one.

Has nothing to do with a triangle flattening into a square, I just don't feel confident shooting from small platforms. (Although, the triangle crush isn't real comforting, but I agree a little give can improve comfort, so long as the thing doesn't implode.)
I see the tree police is at it again. What is your problem. Do you just go from thread to thread with the intent of telling everyone how poor their choices are? Gheez man, give it a break.

My platform is in the mail. I’ll do a quick video on it.
I’m 5’11” 235lbs- so we shall see.

My pursuit platform came today, should be able to get it in a tree tonight or tomorrow.

I thought something was a miss when they posted on their IG that the platform teeth need to “break in” seemed odd to me.

Then I watched a video review and glad I didnt order one. Close to completely buckling….

Hard pass from me!

i wanted one til I saw that but I’m wondering if it’s a one off thing, I’m hovering between 250-255 right now. I’m down from 266 trying to get down to230-240 by beginning of December.

Guys I’m telling ya. That is definitely not standard. I’m 256-260 in my skivvies……So probably 262-265 on hoof clothes. It does not do that normally. Either that one platform had some issues or ole boys scale may be off. I’m almost tempted to buy one and send out to people to try it out and send back just to prove it.
Who would be interested in that? Person trying the platform would pay shipping to and back?? No I’m not affiliated with them either. Just really like the product and one bad review is driving a good product in the wrong direction.
If it’s just not ur thing that is totally understandable but to knock it before u have tried it.

Doesn’t this platform weigh a pound, isn’t that the same as the OOAL Scout? Is the size of it much larger?

I had a scout for the top of a shikar stick. It was about the same width I think. Not sure just from memory. I got rid of the scout prior to purchasing the pursuit. The depth from front to back is more on the pursuit and the way it is triangular shaped away from the tree helps me with footing when making those around the tree shots. The scout just wasn’t quite big enough for me. Also yes this platform is 22 ounces including the cam buckle strap. I believe right at a pound for the platform alone.
