Rant about the forum

I agree with ImThere I can't stand that there are sucmb out there waiting to rip people off. So if it takes a few post to get involved on site so be it.

I am also new to the site. Really weary of people scamming in many different areas of life. I am unsure of what is needed to be past the threshold but if it eliminates 1 scammer I will be happy.
 
I think it's great that you have spent some time soaking up the info that's already been shared, it's pretty common for people to totally avoid the search function and just ask the same questions that have been answered over and over again.
With that said, you should have a pretty good feel for how we all interact as a community/ family. Chime in, add a comment or two, let us know who you are and you'll be able to use the rest of the free services in no time.

A line had to be drawn somewhere. There are multiple factors the system is taking into account to try to keep scammers out of the classifieds. Is it perfect? No, definitely not. But we had 4 people get scammed in the 2 weeks prior to my implementation of the new policy. As far as I know we had 0 in the previous 5.5 years. So I had to do something quickly because I wasn't going to let that continue. I'm sorry that the new policy affects you, but if you become a little more interactive in the community you will gain access pretty quickly. I can't just grant access to anyone who messages me and asks me to let them in if they don't even meet the requirements. I don't know you, for all I know you could be trying to gain access to run a scam. I'm not saying you are, I'm just making a point. While the policy isn't perfect, it's intention is to allow people who at least minimally involved in the community the rights to the classifieds because this reduces the chance that they will be running a scam.
 
I am also mostly a lurker but try to comment when I feel it adds something to the conversation. Not even sure if I meet the new requirements but glad they are there. I inherently trust the members of this forum and glad there are now precautions in place to try to prevent scams
 
I wish people would make more post here or search here first instead of asking the same questions over and over on Facebook.

I have been a member Saddlehunter.com for about 2 years now. There is more information and less drama here than all other sites I use to follow, hence used too. Great forum with a great group of members that share a wealth of information. I appreciate redsquirrel’s quick response to the scams and all the moderators efforts to maintain Saddlehunter.com. There are open discussions about everything possible to do with saddle hunting or hunting in general. Anyone that wants to be part of this community should not have any problem meeting the requirements set forth to protect us all and the integrity of this site.

I agree it sucks! It sucks that there have been people who pop in here w/ no interaction on the forum & take advantage of members here. I really enjoy our saddle hunting family here. No system is going to be perfect or make everyone happy, but the point is to limit the scammers & one hit wonders to take advantage of our folks! I encourage you to engage a bit more this season. You’ve been here awhile & know it’s a good crew. Let us get to know ya & it’ll be a better experience for all. On that rant if your an longer standing member that just reads or a new guy just figuring it out, plug in & engage that benefits everyone!
 
I mostly sponge info as well. Not into commenting often unless I feel I can be helpful. This is a great forum with a common respect level I've only observed here and Hunting Beast. I've bought gear here and HB with great result and fair pricing. If I need to post more for a bit more security to the masses so be it. Thanks all and best of luck and safety this season.
