It also looks like wesper would splice a loop for you in your Predator rope I'm not sure I still got to look all that up but they showed it spliced together with loops which makes for a much cleaner connection between you and your carabiner to your harness or in this case the saddle

With the lineman's belt I don't think you're going to fall 10 feet because you're keeping yourself close to the tree for the most part Red Squirrel is using the, sender as a climbing he to bring him up and down the tree further I just haven't seen the video yet have to go online on my computer in order to flip through all the comments easier it looks cool if it works it's awesome cuz you only have to carry a couple of sticks with you and you're not confusing me I use traditional climbing static rope from a local sports store here and it's just super duper to put in

No you are not likely to have a dynamic fall with the ascenders that we use even with a linemans belt. Buy the 11 mm predator and a ropeman 1 for your lineman's belt and tether and have fun. All life has risk... this is not a huge risk.
Risk... I just cut my index finger for 11 stitches... sharpening a chainsaw... Using a chainsaw is riskier than a ropeman 1.

Safety First you supposed to wear gloves when you sharpen the blade. I have the rope man one I just need to order the line now once I get it I said I'll see if I can get it spliced with the loop and I will post a picture

I have a suspicion one of my grown children may have ordered something to wear when doing this.
I wear protective clothing cutting wood because a chainsaw can kill you but I had nothing on my hands when sharpening the blade.

Even when used the safe and proper way chainsaws are definitely more dangerous than safe saddle hunting.

Oh I agree a chainsaw is very deadly

I actually have the prusik above my ropeman then clipped into my carabiner. My thinking on this is that if the ropeman fails the prusik will grab and catch the biner. If you put it below the ropeman and it failed the ropeman could just push the prusik(which would all be caught with a stopper knot) In the event of a rope being cut I honestly dont know if the prusik would bite in time to catch you but I dont feel that would be a major risk. Im also very new at this so my thinking my be way off mark lol.

Can we see a photo

I use a Kong Duck on my linemans, A Schwabisch on my tether, and a Stitch hitch on my bridge. I am finally pretty happy! Oh, I also rappel with a figure 8 backed up with a Valdotain Tresse. This is on Canyon Elite 9 mm. except for the linemans which is Rescue Tech 8 mm.

I've accumulated an array of brands simply because there is so many great vendors and products in the saddle hunting industry. I have Tethrd brand tree tethers because I like the 8mm rope. Its very compact and packs up very well. On the 8mm I use the Kong Duck with awesome results. On my lineman's loop (Aero Hunter) I use the Rope-man 1 for the 12mm rope.
The saddle industry is similar to the electronics sector was a few years back. Technology and techniques are changing so rapidly it hard to keep up. Many folks are going smaller and smaller on their ropes. At 61 years old and 218 lbs, I'm planning to stick with the "tried and true" climb rated merchandise. I really like the New York Saddle Hunters and the many ways they ascend and descend their trees. As professional arborist they do this daily so they have an abundance of practical experience.
